Third person's POV:
Elena stood in front of the well, frustrated. What deal could that sunbird be talking about? Her heart was pounding, and she was lost in thought.
"This is a cloudahlia, it has the power to defeat dark magic." She said.
Elena hesitated for a while, unsure if she could trust her.
"And if it's so powerful, why would you be here in the first place?" Elena asked, surely no one would want to spend the rest of their life here.
"Years ago, the four shades of awesome invaded Maru, we knew we had to defend our territory but they were too powerful. So I used my magic to trap them and banned the shadow gateway. But in return, I got trapped in here." She explained.
"And what does that have to do with me?" Elena still doesn't seem to get it.
"To achieve your goal, you'll have to pay for the price." She answered.
"What do you mean? What price? What goal?" Elena asked, puzzled.
"If you want to succeed in saving your kingdom, you'll have to sacrifice your memories. That's the price you'll have to pay in order to get rid of Shuriki." The sunbird said.
"What memories? Does that mean I won't remember everything? My identity? My family and my friends?" Elena continued to ask.
"You will remember them as who they are, but you'll forget all those precious memories you had with them." She replied.
Elena took a deep breath and said, "Yes, I am willing to sacrifice my own memories to save Avalor and my friends."
"That's your choice, after 3 months, the spell will cast and you'll forget everything. Now jump in the well." The sunbird instructed.
When Elena jumped in, she casted the spell the sunbird taught her with the scepter of light and rose up from the wishing well. (Again)
Before she left, the sunbird told her the gateway to go back to the present.
Meanwhile, Mateo and Gabe were looking everywhere for Elena. Just then, she appeared in front of them.
"The gateway is the ones we went through." Elena pointed.
"Are you sure?" Mateo asked.
"Yes, 100% sure." Elena answered.
Once they stepped through, they were teleported back to the tower. Elena tried to fake a smile, but deep inside, she was sad at the fact that she might lose all the ones she loved.
