Third person's POV:
"Long time no see, old friend." Elena said with a smirk.
"I'm so sorry that I couldn't see you just now, your majesty." Replied Naomi playfully.
"I don't have time for jokes. Tell me where Chatana went!" Declared Elena.
"And why would I do that?" Naomi shot back.
"I would let you live on Soledad island. It's not the best place, but at least better than here." Elena answered in a strict voice.
"So the Queen of Avalor is asking me a request? I feel honored! But no, I won't betray her in order to help you." Said Naomi.
"This is an order!" Boomed Elena, as if she was a volcano that's about to erupt.
"My decision stands." Replied Naomi, and with the magical bag, she trapped Elena and Mateo.
"Goodbye, you can organize a little slumber party while I destroy your reputation and friendship." Cackled Naomi.
Meanwhile, Elena and Mateo are thinking of a solution to escape.
"Think think think, there must be a way out! If the crystal bat can, you could too!" Said Elena.
"This is all your fault, if you didn't fall for her trap, we wouldn't be here to start with!" Complained Mateo while jabbing his finger at Elena.
"Me? What did I do?" Replied Elena.
"First, you made a tricky deal with that sunbird. Then, you got us into this mess. At last, you chose to hide the truth from us-your best friends!" Exclaimed Mateo.
"What about you? Arguing with me when we have an even important mission to accomplish!" Exploded Elena.
Mateo took a deep breath and said, "You're right, I shouldn't have turned us into enemies. We should collaborate with each other and find a way to get out of here!"
Elena's POV:
Just then, I saw something's wrong with Mateo, as if he had a trouble that he couldn't get rid of. He looked......scared?
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"It's just......I am the grandson of one of the most powerful wizard that ever lived. If I can't even handle this type of matter on my own! Now we're stuck here, waiting to be roasted. I feel like I'm just a failure to my family, to the Avalorions, to every one of you. What if we can't defeat them? What if I failed? it'll be my fault. I feel......" As Mateo echoes his fears, I was lost in thought.
"You know what? I'm scared of failing too." I whispered.
"You? Queen Elena Castillo Flores of Avalor is afraid of failure?" Mateo laughed as if it's a joke.
"I mean, it's my duty to protect Avalor. I am the oldest child, so eventually I'm the rightful heir to the golden throne! It's a lot to live up to, being a royal. You have to make sure your kingdom doesn't land on the wrong hands. That's what I was afraid of when I heard about the test Quita Moz said! I'm scared that if I fail, I wouldn't be worthy to become queen. I can't risk the chance for that!" I admitted, swallowing the lump in my throat.
"I......" Mateo started, but he soon he fell asleep with a yawn.
I felt that my eyelids were growing heavier and heavier, and without even knowing, I fell asleep next to him.
Author's note:
Another long chapter!🥳 (Though compared to other stories, it's short since I know that we all don't have a lot time to read.) Now Elena and Mateo are trapped and Naomi is about to cause havoc in Avalor! The next chapter will be published in a blink of an eye. Have a nice day!
