Fine, I'll admit it. The previous chapter was NOT my dream. I lied, or did I?
Here is the REAL one: (However, it may seem weird~)
Splash!
"C'mon, is this your best to impress girls?" Chloe teased with a smirk as Gabe sprayed water all over her face.
A few minutes earlier, Gabe flipped off bridges and balanced on railings. Chloe giggled as he tried to show off by performing feats of strength but ended up tumbling into the river below.
"Well, now I think I'm kind of glad that you're not a guard here in Norberg." Chloe continued mockingly.
"Hey!" Gabe screamed, unable to control his anger.
"Alright, I'm just kidding. Now...why don't we find somewhere else to go?" Chloe asked.
Gabe sighed, regretting the stupid deal he made with Elena. Now not only he has to spend all of his time with Chloe, but he also has to marry a person he doesn't like.
"Gabe?! Hellooooooo?" A voice next to him asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.
"Oh, I'm just um...tired." Gabe replied grumpily. I mean, he's not lying. Keeping up that act is kinda hard.
"Well, in that case, I guess all you need is a rest. See ya!" Chloe exclaimed, secretly suspecting that Gabe said that on purpose.
Here goes my break. Gabe thought, walking away.
Once he went into his room, (by room I mean suite) he bumped into someone. He brushed off the dust on his uniform and stood up.
"Elena? What are you doing here?!" He cried.
"So you I'm an unwanted visitor?" Elena responded, raising an eyebrow.
"No! I'm just curious." Gabe answered, already fearing the consequences.
"Anyways, I was thinking that you might like... some Avalorian chocolate!" Elena replied with a cheerful and energetic smile.
Gabe smiled back, snatching a chocolate bar from her hand.
"You don't have to react so quickly, I still have more!" Elena said, showing him the chocolates in her other hand.
However, that's only what she said. After they have eaten 3 bars each, there was only one left and so they fought for it.
"Hey! I took it first!" Gabe screamed.
"No! It was me!" Elena shot back.
"I thought you said that you have more than enough!" Gabe challenged.
"And I thought you should be spending time with Chloe!" Elena exclaimed. And with all her might, she grabbed the chocolate bar on the table and quickly removed the packaging.
She held it up, close to her mouth. And... she and Gabe, bit into it at the same time.
Elena stared into Gabe's eyes, awestruck. Gabe, too did the same. They bit deeper and deeper into the chocolate, and...
All of a sudden, the doors banged open. And in came a girl no other than Chloe.
"Gabe! See? I brought you-" She started excitedly. But her expression blanked when she saw that Elena was next to him. Not just, both of them were leaning forward. Their eyes like magnets and their lips almost touched.
She was so surprised she dropped the white plastic bag onto the ground and bottles of medicines fell out.
"Oh! I'm sorry to disturb you guys, please continue." She said politely and rushed out of the room.
Tears burst out of her eyes. She wholeheartedly loves Gabe but saw him cheating with another girl a few weeks before their wedding. She locked the door of her room and shut the windows.
Meanwhile, back in the room, Elena and Gabe glared at each other. And after mere minutes of silent, Elena finally commented: "That was kind of awkward."
"I just hope that we didn't hurt Chloe's feelings." Gabe answered, hanging his head.
"It's okay, I'm sure she'll understand." Elena assured him.
"Look who's the damsel in distress now?" Gabe mocked.
"You did not just say that." Elena replied furiously.
"I think I just did." Gabe said with a playful smirk.
But looks like Elena took it too seriously, or else she wouldn't have to throw pillows at Gabe.
"You'll regret that!" Gabe shrieked as he took one from the floor and threw her back.
"Don't you dare!" Elena exclaimed, throwing even more pillows at him.
At last, they both gave up and leaped onto the bed, laughing.
On the other hand, Chloe remembered that she had left the medicines she brought for Gabe in his room. And since he wasn't sick after all, she decided to take them back.
She could have knocked since it would be more polite, but it was her castle, after all. So she just opened the door without knocking. Once she stepped into the room, she froze. She couldn't believe what she saw. She recalled what happened just now, and looked at the bed. Elena and Gabe were sleeping on it, unaware of their surroundings. Elena wrapped her arms around Gabe's neck, and seemed to murmur to herself.
Chloe stared in awe, took her bag and sadly ran away.
It didn't go on smoothly though, since she dropped the bag of medicines onto the floor, again. Although somehow she managed to get away before the loud thud woke up both Elena and Gabe. Elena opened her eyes.
"Aaargh!" She screamed, plopping up of the bed.
"What are you doing on my bed?!" Gabe cried, terrified.
"Me? What are you thinking?!" Elena shouted, wrapping her arms around her body for defense.
"I don't know! Once minute we're pillow-fighting and the next? We ended up in bed." Gabe replied innocently.
"I won't be the judge of that, show me what happened just now!" Elena exclaimed, holding up her scepter.
After a few minutes, Elena sighed, "I guess I offer you a sincere apology for not trusting you and starting up an argument without any points."
"It's okay, I get it. We all make mistakes. And sometimes, it's what that makes us unique." Gabe answered softly, placing a hand on top of Elena's shoulder for support
"Thank, and..." She didn't even have time to finish, because Gabe had pulled her away.
"What-" She started.
She noticed smoke everywhere and burning walls. The flames grew larger as the fire spread. But it was t what Elena was worried about, it was... the fire came from Chloe's room!
Author's note:
Actually, I changed some bits of my dream since this was all I could make out of it. Please don't be mad that I ended it with a cliffhanger. Although I was quite proud of myself for finally writing a longer chapter. Also, if you would notice, the few chapters I'm about to post are all about my silly dream. Not because my mind is stuck on my story, but because I'm in the middle of a surprise for you all and I want it to go with the chapter A SILENT FAREWELL which I will publish some time later. Please leave a suggestion in the comments section below, bye!
