Obi---
I miss her. I know that once her father passes, she'll be completely alone. Kitty is still running around somewhere, but I'm not sure if she's around currently to be there for her. I wanted to keep Arowen safe but in doing so, I've abandoned her when she needs someone. I really want to go to her but I can't... I've really screwed myself on this. I talked with the prince a couple of days ago, answering what random questions I felt safe enough to answer. He's a curious one that's for sure. I haven't seen anyone else since then, just hands to take and drop off food deliveries.
Someone is in the room watching me... Mitsuhide the attendant... and someone else... Arowen. I sit up and stare at the window in disbelief. What is she doing here? How is she here? Did the prince break his agreement? If he did, why is she in the observation room? I get to my feet and walk to the glass, right in front of where she's standing. I place my hand against the wall. It's nowhere near the real thing, but it's likely the closest I'll get to touching her ever again.
"I love you Arowen."
I can't hear anything but I hope she says it back. I hope she knows it's the truth. In a perfect world, I'd hold her every night, I'd spin her around in fields whether it be sunny, snowing, raining, it wouldn't matter. I'd deal with anything if it meant being with her. I'd walk through Hell for her. I'm going to spend the rest of my life in a cell for her safety. I'm essentially sacrificing my life for hers. If I'd won and we'd gone free, we still would have been painted targets. Losing to the prince ensured her life.
I turn from the glass toward the door as I hear shouting in the corridor. One voice is Arowen's for sure but I can't hear exactly what's being said. They'd better not hurt her... The door opens and I'm tackled to the floor immediately all I can see is long dark hair as they cling to me for dear life. I wrap my arms around her to keep her from getting hurt from the impact and kiss her head once we're on the floor.
"What's going on, Love? Why are you here?" I ask.
"I-I couldn't... You were gone... I can't." She chokes out as sobs wrack her body.
The prince and his men are likely to haul us apart, capture her, kill me, kill her, I'm not sure, but it can't be good. She definitely didn't get permission to come in here. I'll protect her til my dying breath though. I carefully move us so we're sitting up against the wall and allow her to curl up in my lap as she continues to cry. Movement in the doorway catches my attention and I shoot the prince a challenging look as I hold her closer.
"Don't you dare take her from me, not right now." She clings tighter to me. "It's okay Love, I won't let him touch you."
"I-I don't want... want to l-leave you!"
"I know. You aren't going anywhere." I assure her before refocusing on him. "She will not move or be moved until she is ready."
Once Arowen is calm, she apologizes to me before kissing me. I've never seen her this clingy or emotional in the entire time we've known each other. It's weird but it only helps me know her more and feel the love she has for me. The prince has been patiently waiting with his two lackeys guarding the door. She slowly removes herself from my lap but takes one of my hands in her own as she turns toward him.
"I'm sorry for violating our agreement, Prince Zen, I just- let my emotions get the better of me."
"I would appreciate it not happening again. I'd appreciate you not attacking my attendant as well."
"It's always me..." Mitsuhide whines quietly.
"Can I speak privately with you, Prince Zen?" Arowen asks softly.
"Don't do anything stupid, Love."
"I know what I'm doing." She assures me. "I'll return very soon or I'll dry trying at least. I love you."
"I love you too." I kiss her before letting her stand.
They've been gone for a while and I can't help but wonder if something happened. Mitsuhide and Kiki left with them so I'm alone again, waiting for the chance to find out what happened. The door opens and I get to my feet. It's Mitsuhide and Kiki. Arowen and the prince are nowhere in sight.
"What's going on? Where is she?"
"We need you to come with us."
"Not until you tell me she's safe."
"She's not in any danger." Kiki tells me and I nod.
Kiki hasn't said much to me, but she seems the type to not lie.
Kiki and Mitsuhide bind my wrists and lead me through the castle and out onto the grounds. We stop at a small training area stocked with wooden practice swords and various other practice weapons. My eyes are drawn to the center of the space though, where Arowen and the prince are standing across from each other, ready to fight.
"What's going on?"
"Zen and Molliene... or Arowen as you call her... have made a wager between themselves."
I sigh and shake my head. "I told her not to do anything stupid. What was the wager? Also, I am starting to have my concerns over him ruling Clarines someday if he's willing to place bets on the lives of two infamous criminals."
"Zen knows what he's doing." Mitsuhide shrugs. "She told us not to tell you what the wager consists of. They just agreed to let you spectate."
"I'm going to kill her... She knows I hate not knowing stuff..."
