Obi----
I carefully place Arowen on the couch in her father's study and sigh at the state she's in. She's bruised up pretty good and has a few scrapes, but she's absolutely covered in blood. I don't know what happened to Opalia but I am absolutely certain she won't be coming back from it. I gently kiss her forehead before tracking down a pen and piece of paper from his desk. I won't be around to tell her what happened yet sadly no matter what I write, it'll never truly be enough to tell her everything I want to tell her. I don't think I'll be able to see her again and I can't even properly say goodbye to her. I kiss her one last time before covering her with a blanket, then I leave and softly close the door behind me.
When I step out onto the grounds, I hold my hands up by my head in surrender. Two knights rush forward to bind my hands behind my back while another takes all of my weapons from my body. I wait patiently for them to finish. I am a man of my word, after all. If I resist them arresting me, it voids our agreement protecting Arowen. I want her to be with her father before it's too late. She deserves all of the happiness in the world, to live the rest of her life in peace like she'd always talked about. I know that I was a main cause of her being stressed so maybe with me gone she'll be able to rest.
"Hey Prince, you better keep your word. Arowen will be left alone and not charged for any crimes she committed under my control, right?"
He meets my gaze evenly and nods. "I am a man of my word. She won't be bothered unless she causes further trouble."
"Thank you. I have one last request though." I call out as he turns to leave. "Opalia fell down the stairs into the cellar it seems. Could one of your wonderful little children here remove her from the cellar and clean up a little bit? I'd hate for her to have to deal with that along with her father dying."
"That can be arranged." He motions for two of them to go back into the home while the others begin to walk me along behind the prince.
We reach the castle by the middle of the next day and I'm brought into the depths of the castle to a holding room. This one is rather annoying though. The size is decent but I can tell that one wall actually contains a window I can't see, but I can sense it. I don't know exactly what they expect to learn from observing me. I really am a rather normal person, assassin abilities aside. They don't bother to untie my arms but it doesn't take long for me to work the knots free. As much as I'd like to, I won't try to escape. If I do, they'll go after her. I'm not even sure what the prince is going to do with me. As part of our agreement, I'd surrender willingly if I avoid execution. I know that a man's word only goes as far as he lets it and he could very easily break it, but weapons or not, I'd kill him easily. I think he knows that I am not a threat to be taken lightly. I'm sure he feels that it would be safer to leave me down here for eternity rather than letting me go or dealing with the mayhem I'd cause if he tried to kill me.
I think being here has given me some of the healthiest food I've ever eaten in my life. They brought me a salad with chicken in it and a bowl of fruit. I'm not sure how long it's been since we arrived and I haven't seen anyone besides a guard's hand in the food slot in the door. The prince has been in the room behind the window with two others a few times. I don't know what he expected to see. I've just been pacing circles on my hands. I don't like being inside. When Arowen was around, I didn't mind it as much. Now it feels as if my skin is crawling.
The prince is back. He's watching me through the window with the same two people as normal. I think they're his attendants, the man and woman we ran from that night we danced in the storm. That was one of the best nights of my life. There was so much I still wanted to do with Arowen that I won't get the chance to now. I sigh and run a hand through my hair as I sit up and turn toward the window.
"Hey Prince, I hope you know I can tell when you're in there. I'm not sure what you expect to know from watching me in secret. You're more likely to learn from talking to me. As part of our agreement I can't hurt you, I don't even have weapons. If you're concerned for your safety, I'm sure that your friends would protect you."
I need to distract myself. If I continue to think of Arowen, I'll go crazy in here. Every time I picture her face I want to break the door down and run back to her but doing so would wage a war on us against the castle. It's one war I sadly don't think we'd win...
The door opens a few minutes later and my suspicions were correct. It is the prince and his attendants. They settle against the door on either side while he bravely takes a few steps closer. I don't bother to stand but offer him a nod out of respect.
"So, what are you hoping to know, Prince? Curiosity killed the cat after all..."
