Mackenzie's POV

Nothing bad is gonna happen.

I'm just gonna see him.

Him.

They way his blue eyes reminded me of the peaceful ocean.

And his shaggy brown hair, just perfect the way he is.

And now I should snap back into reality.

He means nothing to me.

Nothing!

I walked in and saw Elizabeth with a food platter and offered me and my mom one.

I hugged Cameron and I was so happy I finally got to see him in 2 years since he moved to LA.

"Honey, could you go give Hayes the present we bought him?" My mom asked

"No thank you."

"Go." she said

"No."

She gave me a go-or-else-i-will-kill-you look, so I had to.

I walked towards him and his friends, but then realized I could just give the present to Elizabeth.

"This is for Hayes." i said

"Why thank you sweetheart." she said

After a while Elizabeth made an announcement,

"Alright everybody! In my hand I have a piece of paper, this piece of paper are groups of two people to go on a scavenger hunt!"

I heard Cam and Nash say "Yess!"

I shrugged and walked away.

I probably wasn't even on the list.

"Cameron and Nash,
Andrew and Tez,
Ben and Alec,
Hayes and Mackenzie. These are all your groups! When you're done, bring all the prizes to me!"

I got nervous.

I was as red as a tomato.

I didn't know what to say.

"Ready to scavenge?" I hear a voice behind me say

"Um, yea okay."

I played this one too many times here growing up with Skylynn, so this was going to be a piece of cake.

"Purple toothpaste." he read off the paper

"Oh that's easy, it's in your room."

"What?" He asked

"Just follow me."

I walked to the door of his rooms and he opened it.

Not surprised I couldn't see the floor.

I looked behind his football pictures and got it.

"Check." i said

"Hey Mack." he said

It felt good when he called me Mack.

"Yes?"

"Why don't we ditch this and go to the park?" He asked

I looked straight in his eyes.

"How can we just leave?"

"Easy, just pretend we are going to search outside, an-"

"Why do you even want to go to the park?" I asked

He got quiet.

"Hayes, we broke up." I said as tears formed

"I know bu-"

I ran out dropping my bracelet and not even coming back to pick it up and I ran to my house.

I can't be with a guy who still misses me.
