CHAPTER 28 : "TRAP"
When they safely returned to the pack grounds, Mew had his full attention on Gulf who felt drained after all of the information he learned from Aunt Neoma.
Not to mention, the appearance of the Moon Goddess wasn’t helping.
Gun was about to invite them for a midnight snack but Mew silently declined, gesturing that he’ll accompany Gulf.
Gun responded with a nod as Mew and Gulf turned their backs heading to Mew and the boys’ cabin.
Gun nor Saint questioned it, at this juncture they know too well that the only one who can someone lighten Gulf’s mood is no other than his mate.
Gulf was trudging, his feet felt heavy below him, his legs felt like they were going to give in and his knees were shaking.
Right when they reached the front of the cabin, Gulf stumbled on his feet. Thankfully, Mew was there to support him, letting Gulf shift his weight on him.
They didn’t talk. Mew could feel how heavy Gulf was feeling right now and he didn’t dare to speak, afraid that one wrong word and the other could break like a fragile glass.
Mew carefully assisted him to his room with his arm supporting Gulf’s waist for balance.
As soon as they entered the room, Mew guided Gulf to sit on the bed.
As he closed the door in a swift motion and once again made his way towards Gulf.
When suddenly… Gulf’s hands were shaking as he tried to stop it, his shoulders were moving up and down, his chest was heaving, his lips quivered.
Mew immediately rushed to him, kneeling before him.
Gulf looked up, they met eyes and there goes his tears which brimmed from his eyes, rolling down his cheeks.
Everything felt so suffocating, overwhelming.
Every frustration, anger, annoyance were building up all at once.
Gulf wanted to scream so bad, he wanted to let it all out but somehow he couldn’t..
His body didn’t have the will to move on it’s own.
And Mew who finally saw the fat tears coming from the other’s eyes engulfed him in a tight assuring hug.
As soon as they made contact, Gulf’s sniffles turned to loud sobs. His pain being heard in every sob he emits, and it felt like knives being thrown at Mew.
Gulf didn’t know why he felt so weak, everything was suddenly so heavy and it felt like something was on his chest, making it hard to breathe.
“Let it out, love” Mew whispers in the gentlest tone he could master.
And that was enough to break Gulf like a fragile glass.
“I-it hurts! It hurts s-so bad!” Gulf cries out loudly.
Mew closed his eyes, trying to hold himself together.
‘I need to be strong for you’ Mew reminds himself.
But with every sob and cry, Mew’s heart was being shattered to pieces.
But he needed to be strong for Gulf.
Gulf was crying his eyes out, his pants were getting louder, his grasp around Mew was tighter, holding on as if his life depended on him.
“M-make it st…op!” Gulf says in between sobs, but with every word his voice seemed to gradually becoming hoarse and scratchy.
He was angry because of his mother’s inhumane deeds, for rejecting his mate just because of his mere ranking, for leaving him alone in that forest, if his father didn’t arrive who knows what could have happened to him.
