The once loud streets grew quiet, everyone frozen in pure fear all staring in one direction. Where the sun's blazing rays once were, now replaced with a open fleshed face. Its eyes glaring at us like we were nothing. I grabbed my mothers hand not knowing what to do.
"Mom, how is this possible." I shivered tearing my gaze away from the terrible sight. My mom never looked away, nor did she even budge. I felt the ground shake as an earth quick would. Pieces of rock fly landing anywhere they could. "Honey ru-" my mother spoke.
I heard a crunch and what felt like water hitting me. I slowly turned to look next to me, giant pieces of concrete now where my mother once was. Her hand still in mine, severed from her body. My ears began to ring, everything around me started to fade away. I looked down at my clothes now stained in a crimson red.
My mother's blood.
I felt my arm being tugged, and my body being picked up. "Are you ok? You're not hurt are you?" A boy spoke next to me. I looked over seeing a boy my age and a girl on the ground running next to us. "N-no i'm not." I mumbled looking back towards the wall. A now large hole in the middle of it, with titan's of all sizes poring in.
I was let down, and the boy took my hand tugging me with him. "Stick with us and you'll be safe." He said squeezing my hand, but I could hardly feel it. "Okay." We went into the doors connected to Wall Rose to take cover and be safe from the Titans.
We meet with another boy along the way, but I didn't bother to pay attention. All that could run through my mind was the incident with my mother. In just a blink of an eye she was gone.
"Hey, are you alright?" The boy asked, all three of them turning towards me. How was I suppose to answer that, if I say yes I'd be lying, but if I say no they'd ask about it and I don't think I could talk about it.
"I.. I don't know." I sighed looking back down to my shirt, the red stains now starting to fade away and dirt starting to take its place.
"Hey, we never did get your name." The blond boy spoke up. "It's y/n." I mumbled lightly not really in the mood for talking, everything just drained me and I felt on the verge of fainting.
"I can't wait until I'm old enough to join the scouts, I'll kill every titan that crosses my path." He spat looking back to the wall, "Eren what did your mom tell you." The girl spoke her eyes cold as ice. "Well she's gone now Mikasa." He yelled his shoulders slouching as he frowned.
Another loud bang could be heard, we all turned our heads seeing this wall be broken into. I didn't even know how to react, I just sat and stared. We all went silent, not knowing what to do. The boat slowly took off down the stream of water taking us inside of Wall Rose.
"I'll find that Titian one day, and I'll kill it." He said solemnly sitting down looking at the wooden floor of the boat we were on.
He seemed stubborn and hard-headed. He also seemed passionate and determined to become a scout, tho I don't understand why. Joining the scouts is honestly a death sentence. Everyone that joins doesn't live long. But it takes courage to become one and to look after your people is a big responsibility. So I admired that about him.
"I think I'll join too." I surprised myself and everyone around me. "I guess I'll join too, make sure you guys don't die." Mikasa sighed rubbing her face. Eren didn't seem to like what she said very much. "Hey, you don't have to protect me! I can handle myself just fine!"
"I.. I'll join too." The blonde boy spoke, Eren groaned stomping his foot. "Don't you guys follow me now, I can do this on my own!"
"It's kinda too late for that, seems everyone's done made up their minds." He huffed sitting down next to me, he crossed his arms and scolded his shoes. I nudged his shoulder lightly. "Cheer up, at least you'll know they'll be safe considering you'll see them every day, you can still also protect them by looking out for them."
He sighed looking over at me with a slight smile, "I suppose your right. I can make sure all of you stay safe." I smiled back slouching over with a yawn. "You can rest your head on my shoulder if you want." He said lightly slouching over himself. I nodded lightly lying my head on him and closing them.
"I'll wake you up when we get there." I thanked him and drifted off to almost decent sleep.
When I awoke I was lying on a cover, in what seemed to be a barn. I also noted all the people standing around me talking, eating, or sleeping. Mikasa was watching Eren and Armin as they slept. She fiddled with the red scarf around her neck and pulled it close around her. "You can sleep now if you'd like." I stretched causing her to look away a little startled.
"I'm not tired." She said looking back to the boys, I nodded getting up sitting next to her. She didn't talk much after that, she felt it was important to watch over everyone so nothing would happen. Which I understood her concern and never questioned. When the boys finally woke up everyone was given bread to eat, it wasn't much but I didn't complain.
"Did you sleep well," Eren asked taking a bite out of his bread. I nodded lightly swallowing my food. "Yeah, it was okay. My head does hurt a little bit, but I can handle it." He sat against a box looking at the bread in his hands.
"I don't know if you wanna talk about it or not, but who's blood is on your clothes?" I froze dropping my last bite of bread not meaning to. The images of my mother being crushed by the rock, and the feeling of the blood going all over my clothes.
"My mother's."
His eyes widened, Mikasa and Armin's attention was on me now as well. "When the wall was kicked in, a piece of rock fell on my mother who was next to me."
"I'm sorry y/n." He said lightly grabbing my hand in his. "We all have to look out for one another. Everyone promise we'll always stay alive & be together." I nodded even though we couldn't promise not knowing what the future held for all of us. But it was what we all needed to hear, and it cheered me up a bit.
"Together till the end. No matter what."
