Daniel Reynolds
"I want you to collect the quotation from our French clients and hand-deliver it to me, first thing tomorrow morning. I'll be at my house." I spoke into the phone to Mrs. Ryder's assistant, Greg.
"Sure, sir." He curtly replied and I cut the call.
The sound of clicking of heels on the marble, made me spin on my heels. I walked towards the staircase and my breath hitched at the sight in front of me.
Kiara was descending down the stairs wearing the black dress that I picked for her. The dress looked way better on her in reality than how I imagined it would look. It hugged her body like a second skin, above her waist. Her hair were down in soft curls and she was carrying a silver clutch with her.
A hand on my shoulder bought me out of my trance. She was standing right in front of me with a confused look on her face.
"How do I look? Do I look okay?" She questioned with a hint of nervousness in her voice.
"You look ravishing, Mrs. Reynolds." I said and wrapped my arms around her. I interlocked my fingers behind her waist and she kept her hands on my suited chest.
"Thank you." She shyly said.
"You look great too." She complimented me and I felt like I was on the top of the world.
"Oh, really?" I playfully said and pressed a kiss on her exposed collarbone. Just then, my eyes feel on her necklace.
"Wait, is this..." I let the question hanging.
"Yeah. Your birthday gift to me." She replied. She kept her hands on my shoulder and tip toed, kissing my cheek. It took everything in me, not to grab her neck and kiss the living daylights out of her.
"May God have mercy on me tonight." I whispered.
"Huh?" She thankfully didn't catch it.
"Nothing. Let's get going." I said and held her hand before walking out of the house.

We reached the venue just in time. The guests had started pouring in and our parents were already there, entertaining them.
I kept my hand on Kiara's waist and led her further in, towards the sea of people present there. Majority of the crowd was filled with my business acquaintances and co-workers.
"You guys look beautiful together. May God bless you." Kiara's mom said as soon as we approached them.
"Thank you, mummy." I accepted the compliment on Kiara's part too since my wife was too busy blushing right now.
We busied ourselves in some chats when my parents, Savannah and Jack joined us. All of us started conversing amongst ourselves when we heard a spoon clicking against a glass, over the mic.
"Here, here." Xavier said, gaining everyone's attention. He kept the spoon aside and raised his glass.
"I would like to make a toast for my old friend, Daniel Reynolds and my new friend, Kiara Reynolds. Please grab a glass everyone." Xavier said and we all complied.
"I've known Daniel since we were 8 and man, what a journey it has been. From our first fight to our first day in college together. From my first breakup to his first relationship, we've seen it all. It's a wonder we've made through these many years without killing each other." Xavier stopped for a second since the group broke out into laughs including my wife. This idiot sure knows how to make someone laugh.
"Also, Kiara, I wanna let you know some things about your husband. Daniel is a very helpful man so if you ever want to go shopping, he'll gladly carry all your shopping bags." The crowd cheered at this and I playfully glared at Xav.
"He is a very generous man so you may order as many diamond sets as you like." Xav said and I turned towards Kia who looked at me for a split second.
"I wouldn't mind." I whispered in her ear. She gave me a smile and turned towards Xav.
"He is a handsome man, so you can use him as a means to attract costumers at your bakery." The crowd broke into another set of laughter at this and I lightly face-palmed myself.
"Xavier!" I mouthed and he winked at me.
"Jokes apart, both Daniel and Kiara are one of the sweetest and most loving people I know. Here's wishing you guys all the happiness in the world and a long, happy marriage. To Daniel and Kiara!" Xav said and raised his glass.
"To Daniel and Kiara." The crowd said and raised their glasses. After taking a sip, all of them clapped and Xav got off the stage with a 'thank you'.
"We have a gift for you both." My mom said as she looked at us with a sly smile.
"You didn't have to." Kia said and I agreed.
"You'll love it." Savannah mischievous said.
"What is it?" I questioned.
"Honeymoon." They all said in unison.
