Oh God!
A small whine left my mouth when I realised I had yet to take out all the hairpins from my massive bun. This is going to cause so much pain. Not only to my scalp but also to my shoulder muscles.
I mentally face-palmed myself. Letting out a huff of air in annoyance, I sat at the vanity. I slowly and carefully started taking the hairpins out of my bun one-by-one. It took me literally 20 minutes to take out the first half of the pin and I was still left with I-don't-even-know-how-many number of pins. I made a mental note to give Riya and my stylist an earful for the amount of hairpins they used. They knew I was the one who was going to untie my hair and yet they did this.
My shoulder started aching due to this, as I predicted earlier. I started massaging my left shoulder with my right hand. I did the same to my right shoulder but they still were aching pretty badly. I folded my hands on the vanity table and kept my head on it. It was around 12 and I was freaking sleepy. I started counting till 20 after which I am going to get up and take out the rest of the pins.
I was in the middle of my count when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I sat straight and turned around to see a worried Daniel standing behind me.
"The bathroom door opened around 20 minutes ago and yet you didn't come out so I thought I would check up on you. What happened?" Daniel asked and I closed my eyes, shaking my head sideways.
"It's nothing." I tried dismissing the topic but Daniel didn't bulge.
"Is it because of...?" He left his question hanging and I furrowed my eyes. I shrugged my shoulder at him in reply and before I knew it, he kneeled in front of me. His face was in my line of sight. He took both my hands in his and gripped them in a firm yet soft grip.
"Kiara, I want you to know, I would never force you into anything. I know it's our wedding night but I don't expect anything to happened between us tonight. In fact, I don't want anything to happened between us just yet. We've met just 3 months ago and there are many things that we have yet to discover and learn about each other. I want it to happen when you are fully ready and when you give yourself to me, willing. At any point in the marriage, I don't want you to feel even slightly obliged to do it. We have all the time in the world. I am ready to wait for you. I don't want you-" He started blabbering and at start I didn't understand what he was talking about.
It was after a second that I understood what he was referring to. A small blush made its way on my cheeks. I internally chewed my cheeks when I pictured us in a intimate position but I quickly shook it off. My mind wandered to what Daniel said and the fact that, he's keeping my comfort before his desires, was making me feel like I was on the top of the world. He was such an enlightened person and I was so thankful he thinks like that. He's right in a way. We have yet to know each other way more before we take that step. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that it's not the right time now.
When I noticed Daniel was still talking about it, I cupped his cheeks and bought his face a little close to mine.
"I'm grateful that you think that, Daniel, but I wasn't talking about that." He furrowed his brows and I pointed to my half-up-half-down hair. "The hairpins are a headache to take off." I said and he let out a sigh with a chuckle following it.
"Let me help." He said and before I could react, he started taking them out and it was painless this time, contrary to how I did it. Once, he was done with all the hairpins, he raked his fingers in my scalp, as if giving me a massage.
"That feels nice." I said and Daniel hummed. After a moment passed, I started feeling my eyelids getting heavy. Daniel noticed this and kept a hand on my waist. His other hand came below my knees and he effortlessly carried me in his arms, for the second time this night.
He bought me to the bed, laid me on the left side and pulled the duvet over me. He then took his pillow and started walking towards the couch. Before he could go too far, I grabbed his wrist which stopped him.
"Sleep next to me." I sleepily mumbled and I felt him go still for a second before he walked to his side and laid on the bed.
"May I?" He asked as his hands hovered over my waist. I sleepily closed the gap between us and laid my head on his chest. He encircled his arms around me and even before I realised, I got comfortable in his arms and we quickly fell asleep.
QOTD: Do you get nightmares?
