The next few days were super boring. You had improved on your math skills, so you managed to pass the exam.

But one thing that didn't sit right with you was the fact that Hinata had been talking to you less.

He wasn't ignoring you, but he spoke to you less and more to Kageyama. You understand, those boys have probably known each other longer than you had known Hinata. But it still made you a bit upset.

~~~
A few weeks had passed and you were slowly losing motivation to do work. By now Hinata and you only spoke in the morning when you got to school, and occasionally as you were leaving school. You both were busy people, you with classes, and Hinata with his volleyball.
But today you didn't show up to school. You weren't feeling well, you had a bit of a sore throat and a headache, and not feeling like getting out of bed also added to that.
You were sure it would be okay to miss one day. A day for yourself. You've been so busy lately you hadn't been taking care of yourself so you would try your best to get better.
It was almost lunch time when you heard a knock come from your door.
You had a blanket wrapped around you, as you stood and walked to the door, it dragged on the floor. You answered the door with a loud 'Hello!?'.
Standing at your door was Hinata. Your eyes widened, realizing you were in your pyjamas and probably looked terrible.
"What are you doing here?" You asked, readjusting the blanket you had.
"I heard you weren't feeling well, so I thought I'd bring some snacks to cheer you up!" He smiles, which made your heart start beating a lot faster.
"Oh, that is so sweet Hinata, but I don't wanna get you sick." You replied honestly, not wanting to give him your bug.
"I'll be okay, don't worry about me." He said swooshing his hand through the air. "I do want to apologize though."
"Oh, um, yeah come on in." You mumbled, as you opened the door wider for him to walk in. Hopefully you were gonna get an explanation.
"Wow, I've never been in your house before, it's really nice Y/N." He exclaimed putting the bag on your kitchen counter.
"Thanks, it's not much, but it's a cozy place." You smiled at him, as you walked over to the counter and turned on the kettle. "Can I get ya anything?"
"If you're making tea i'll have some, any kind." You nod at him and grab two mugs.
You really just wanted to have a cry and a bit to yourself, but it was nice having Hinata here.
Your mom was at the market then she'd be heading to work so you didn't worry about her coming home, although the thought did stick in the back of your mind.
The tea was ready and you both sat at the counter and had tea. Hinata then pulled a few average sized rocks out of his bag.
"Are we thinking the same thing?" You asked and pointed at the rocks he was holding.
"If what you're thinking is painting rocks, then yes we're thinking the same thing." He laughed.
"That's perfect! I have some paint in my room, i'll just got grab it." You smiled and ran to your room.
You came back to the counter with a multicolour selection of acrylic paint bottles. There was 5 rocks and you chose a small one and a really big one. Hinata took the others, which were all about the same size, not too big but not too small. You ate some of the snacks while you pained the rocks. you
You painted a bee on the little one and were in the middle of painting a flower crown on the big rock, when Hinata nudged you, careful not to bump your arm and ruin your art.
"Can you help me with my second one? I'm not good at painting and you paint so well." He gave you a pouty face, you giggled and looked at his first rock. You weren't sure if it was a cat or a dog but you could at least tell that it was a house pet of that variety.
"It's not so bad, but yeah I'll help." You said and he scooted closer, moving the rocks over to you in the process.
"Thanks Y/N, you're the best!" He laughed and wrapped an arm around your shoulder. Your heartbeat increased. He was warm and you leaned into it a bit. He then let you go.
"So first things first, maybe you should use a smaller brush so you don't use so much paint. You don't want too much." You explained, reaching for a smaller paint brush and handing it to him. He took it gladly and started painting his second rock. You finish your flower crown rock.
"So, how'd you get out of school to come here?" You asked as you regathered the blanket around you. Thankfully you didn't get any paint on it. It was your favourite.
"I just said I wasn't feeling well when lunch hit. We weren't doing any important stuff anyway." He said not looking up from his rock, which he was painting a lopsided volleyball on.
"Ah I see. Maybe Kageyama could fill us in on any work we missed." You said, standing up to put your rocks by the open window to dry.
"Yeah." He sighed and turned away from his rock. "I also wanted to apologize for sort of ignoring you. I wasn't thinking, and I was busy. I'm sorry, I just didn't know how to react."
You walk back over to him and sit down again.
"It's okay, I understand people get busy, don't worry about it. I probably shouldn't have done that in the first place. Sorry." You said giving him a small smile. Your body just does things, while your brain watches from the stands with a box of popcorn, and sometimes it's so infuriating.
"Hey, listen. It wasn't your fault, It was mine. I liked it, but not like in weird ways, just, I- I thought it was cute and sweet. It was nice." Hinata stammered, trying his best to not make the conversation awkward. It was kinda obvious he's new to romance, but so are you so you're not judging.
"Well that's good to hear.." You responded. "Good to know."
Just then the front door opened, causing the both of you to jump.
