Change Of Color (Hinata Shoyo x Reader)

After Kiyoko had finished explaining everything, you had gotten the idea and agreed to it.

It was only for about a week, and just to help out so you thought it'd be fun, plus your mom was always telling you to make more friends.

You and the group had settled and Hinata and Kageyama had to come later. They said they failed a test and had to do it again or something, you weren't really listening. As soon as Hinata walked in you noticed how bright the room got. It even felt brighter, and the colours you were seeing were brighter.

These feelings scared you but you also wanted to embrace them at the same time.

They played a few games against Nekoma and soon enough it was time to sleep already.

The boys were sleeping in different rooms together and you were in a room with the managers Kiyoko and Yachi.

You tossed and turned and you couldn't sleep. You laid on your back looking up at the roof.
Your stomached growled and you hoped it wasn't loud so that you didn't wake anyone else up.

You sat up and quietly and got up. You walked to the door. Maybe you'd just go get a snack or a walk or something.

You walked out the door to the hallway and you spotted a vending machine.

You quickly looked around the hallway then went to buy a snack from the vending machine. You pressed the button for a bag of chips when a voice rang out from the end of the hallway.

You jumped, not expecting a voice to come out from nowhere. You looked to where the voice had come from.

A silhouette stood, rubbing their eye.

"Y/N?" They said again. They walked closer and into the dim lights, to reveal Hinata.

"What are you doing out here?" You both said at the same time.

"Oh haha," You sighed, "Couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd get a snack." You crouched down to reach the bag of chips that had just fallen gracefully to the bottom of the machine.

"Why are you here?" You asked Hinata, as he watched you grab the chip bag and open it. He blinked a few times as if he was in trance moments ago.

"Same as you, I was gonna take a walk. Someone told me it'll make you tired." He shrugged.

"Sounds like a nice outing." You smiled and bit into a chip. You turned away and was about to walk away back towards your room, when Hinata grabs your arm pulling you back towards him. You stumble, almost crashing right into him, but he holds you steady.

"You should walk with me." He half-whispers and lets go of you. You were 80% sure he knew what he was doing, but you kept quiet as you almost had a heart attack.

"Pleaseeee it's dark and I don't wanna go by myself.." He pleaded, looking at you with a pouty face.

"Okay, okay," You giggle. "Let's go." You smile and put out your arm, signalling for him to link arms with you. He understood and did exactly that.

You kept eating your chips, and occasionally offering them to Hinata until your chip bag was completely empty. The hallway got a bit bigger, and you noticed some garbage cans next to a window. You walked over and threw your garbage out while Hinata stood next to the window.

You joined him at the window, gazing out at the beautiful night sky. You loved the sky. There was just something so exciting and enchanting about it.

"The moon is really pretty tonight.." Hinata muttered, whether it was to himself or you it didn't matter.

"It is," You gazed at Hinata then back to the moon. "From where we are, you can see it perfectly." You finish and he just nods.

"You wanna hear something cool." Hinata smirked and looked to you. You nodded telling him to keep going.

"A while ago I started seeing colours."

Your eyes widened. You've been seeing colours too. The thought crossed your mind that it could be you, but it was unlikely. You didn't want to get your hopes up. It could be anyone, from his classmates, to someone he passed out in public.

"Huh? When exactly did you start seeing colours?" You asked, playing it cool like the badass you are.

"I think maybe a few weeks ago? I dunno." He shrugged and looked back to the window, trying to hide the pink tint appearing on his cheeks.

"Oh." You said in a barely audible whisper. That was around the time you guys met, but you also weren't sure if it was before or after.

"Have you started seeing colour yet Y/N?" Hinata turns back to you, awaiting your response. When you think of how to respond and say nothing, his expression changes.

"Sorry, was that rude to ask? I didn't know."

"No, no it's fine, I just zoned out for a second." You chuckled a bit. Then pondered on how you would tell him you see colours too.

Would he think it was someone else?

Would he be mad?

Would he be upset?

Or would he not care at all?

You really didn't know what to tell him. You were primarily worried about hurting him. But with how he operates you felt like he wouldn't catch it.

"Actually I have started seeing colours.." You trailed off as you looked at the floor, too scared to look him in the eyes.

"Y/N!! That's great!" He pulled you into a hug, and stayed there for a moment before he let you go. He kept his hands on your shoulders while he faced you with a large grin on his face.

"Do you know who it is?"

You shuddered. You thought back to your first day at Karasuno, where you noticed the boy had bright orange hair. The same boy who was standing right in front of your eyes at this moment.

"I'm not sure." You answered. His smile fell slightly but he acted like it was nothing. You felt a bit bad for lying to him.

"Do you know who yours is?" You asked, holding the conversation up. He let go of your shoulders to put a hand on his chin like he was thinking really hard about something.

"Hmm, well I haven't really met anyone new.." He muttered quietly. You lightly sighed.
So he doesn't remember us meeting? You thought.

No he wouldn't have just forgotten. Right?

"Ah I see, well we should probably get going, it's pretty late." You smiled at him. He nodded and outstretched a hand for you to grab. You hesitantly did.

Why did you hesitate? You had no idea.

You both split at one point to go to your separate rooms. You lay back down to sleep, but can't help feeling a bit upset. You hated feeling things with no reason.

That night you didn't sleep well.
