It was truly funny how intimidating the O.R. board could be to a woman who was raised all but looking at it. Ophelia clutched the file to her chest as she watched a nurse write down the surgery on the board, she hadn't told anyone about the surgery and to be honest she wasn't sure she should.

It was no secret that all of her fellow interns were placing bets on how George performed in surgery and that scared her, just the mere thought of having them place bets on her performance.

"Why are you looking at the O.R. board intern?" Richard Webber questioned suddenly, making Ophelia jump out of her skin and throw him a small glare, "Chief Webber." she greeted as politely as she could while trying to calm her racing heart. "Intern." Webber replied, looking at her with a mocking smile, knowing fully well what he had done.

"I booked an O.R. for Mr. Gaunt under Dr. Bailey and Derek's orders." Ophelia replied, turning her eyes back to the board where her name was written on along with Bailey and Derek's as well as Mr. Gaunt's. A low hum escaped Richard, his arms crossing over his chest as he too looking at her name on the board, he like Derek and Bailey could tell that she was nervous about stepping in the O.R.

"You have to assist you know that." Richard reminded her calmly, feeling her eyes on the side of his face, "You're a first-year intern no one is going to put you on the spot with a brain." his words were true and Ophelia Montgomery knew that but she also knew Derek, she knew that he'd find a way of having her prove herself worth or her medical crown.

"No matter how small the tumor might be or how great the vitals of the patient might be we don't make out interns operate on the patient's brain unless it's the ultimate last case resolution.

Ophelia turned back to the board and chuckled "It's like you don't Derek at all." This time it was Richard who looked at her, his bushy brows furrowed in confusion at her comment, "My darling brother-in-law will do anything to make sure that I succeed in doing whatever it is I do, he'll go as far as bribing someone as far as I know." A loving smile grew on her lips, "It's kind of a running joke that I'm his favourite sister while Amelia is Addison's. And that's how I know that he will try his very best to make sure that I perform the surgery completely or that I perform a good part of the surgery."

Were Richard not a family friend he wouldn't have believed a word that came out of the youngest Montgomery's mouth but being so he knew that it was true, he knew that Derek would move Heaven and Earth for Ophelia, more so than with his own sisters. He was reminded of that when he bumped into Derek earlier that day, after he had seen Ophelia and the way that Derek gushed about her being all professional yet a kind soul. "Miranda won't let that happen." Richard reassured, placing a soothing hand on her shoulder.

Meredith Grey seemed to materialize out of the blue next to Ophelia because she gave the intern and the Chief of the Hospital a scare that nearly had them needing a crash cart to be okay, a small and teasing smile on her lips as she saw them jump, clearly enjoying the fact that she could still scare seasoned Doctors, in Richard's case.

"I was headed to the gallery when I saw you looking at the board with Dr. Webber." Meredith told Ophelia after Richard slipped away, leaving the two medically inbred interns together. "Yeah, we were just catching up." Ophelia smiled back at the blonde, turning her green eyes to meet Meredith's green ones.

"You know each other?" the Grey Legacy inquired as she hooked her arm with Ophelia's, watching as she nodded while the two turned around to leave the board behind and head to the gallery, "He's friends with my sister and brother, I've known him since I was 10 I think." Ophelia explained making Meredith nod while they made their way, almost expertly to the nearly full gallery that peered down to Goerge's O.R.
