Footsteps ran after her as she walked away, just a pair of them, alerting the youngest Montgomery that it was most likely Izzie who was chasing after her, "Why didn't you tell me that you were inbred?" Izzie's voice cut through the air as the blonde fell in step with the youngest Montgomery, "Because I don't want to be judged." Lia started, peering to her side, towards Izzie, "But I didn't like the attention, negative attention that you were giving Meredith."

A small blush grew on Izzie's cheeks as she looked down for a brief moment, understanding that she and Cristina were already ready to bite into Meredith and tear her apart for being medically royal inbred. "Sorry about that." Izzie mumbled, beside her Lia shrugged and took a sip of her water, she was used to it and she bet that Meredith was as well, but that didn't change the fact that it was a horrible feeling to have when you know people assume that you only got to where you are due to your family.

"How was your morning?" the blonde questioned, "Running around and answering Bailey's pages." Lia replied, screwing the bottlecap back on, "You're morning's been better than mine then." Izzie commented, a small disgusted groan leaving her lips. "Yea, I know." Lia replied, rubbing her back ever so slightly.

"I've already scrubbed my hands and arms so many times I'm surprised they're not raw and bloody." Izzie explained, a grimaced look flashed across Lia's face momentarily before her brother-in-law stepped into their path. "Lia." He greeted, clearly not seeing the blonde intern next to his younger sister-in-law, "Dr. Bailey informed me of your extraordinary and quick thinking. Your father would be proud of how fast you were."

His arms went around Lia tightly, and even though Izzie was right next to her, Lia hugged back, an instinctive reaction that caused her to hug the taller and older man back as tight as he was hugging her. He pulled back and cupped her face, an action that to Izzie seemed almost too intimate for work colleagues, for attending and intern, "Arch would be throwing a party if he was here." he pulled her face closer to his and pressed a kiss on her forehead.

It seemed so natural for him to do that that Izzie couldn't help but bring their attention back to her with her gasp, reminding Lia that the blonde was still there with her and that she was an intern, no longer a student in med school who was getting congratulated by her family.

"Are you two sleeping together?" Izzie questioned once their eyes were on her, watching as Derek let go of Lia and both of them step away from each other as a look of pure and utter disgust etched on their faces, it confused Izzie ever so slightly.

"He's my brother."

"She's my sister."

Those words fell from their lips with the same amount of disgust as their faces showed and honestly anyone who knew Lia and Derek could completely understand why. Izzie brows rose and she covered her mouth with her hand, surprise clear in her features, her lips forming an O shape.

She then covered her face completely in disappointment with herself for having suggested what she did, "Oh god!" she muttered, "I mean I get why you would say that but Derek is my brother." Lia added, shivering slightly "No way in heaven or hell would I screw him. No offense Der." she quickly told her brother-in-law, to which he shook his head.

"Derek, this is Izzie Stevens, my friend and fellow intern, Izzie this is Derek Shepherd, my older brother for all the intents and purposes." Lia introduced, rubbing her hands together in nervousness, watching as they exchanged stiff pleasantries. "Well Dr. Bailey should be paging you in a short while, she's just having a talk with Dr. Burke." he told Lia, going in to kiss her forehead again but stopping as Izzie's words came back to mind.

"Oh god! I'm so sorry!" Izzie pleaded as Derek walked away, her hands doing strange gestures in the air before she stuffed them in the pockets of her lab coat. "Next time please stop to think before you speak your mind Izzie." Lia told her as they both began to walk away, Izzie nodding softly before she commented lowly "He is dreamy though, I wouldn't judge if you were sleeping with him."

Lia shivered in disgust again and shot her friend a sharp glare "Isobel that's my brother you're talking about!" she responded, shaking her head as she began to walk faster, making the blonde chase after her.
