The second she walked away from the cashier with her lunch, Lia's brown eyes caught the sight of Izzie flagging her down to the table, a look of despair on her face, telling the red-headed intern that her morning had not been good. "Hello." she greeted quietly, slipping into the seat next to the blonde, watching her cover her nose and mouth at the sight of more food.

Although compared to everyone else at the table Lia was the one who had least food, just a tuna sandwich from the machine and a bottle of water.

"This shift is a marathon, not a sprint, eat." George told the blonde nauseated intern who grimaced, "I can't" she told him, the look on her face telling everyone that if she did try to eat that she'd puke all over everyone's robes. "You should eat something." George insisted, Lia rolled her eyes and rubbed Izzie's back giving her an understanding look.

"You try eating after performing seventeen rectal exams." she told everyone, making them all shiver in disgust, "The Nazi hates me." Lia frowned at her friend's words, she knew how everyone perceived the Nazi but to be honest she didn't see it, maybe it was because unlike the rest of her colleagues she was running left, right and center answering her pages.

"The Nazi's a resident. I have attendings hating me." George countered, scoffing slightly, Lia looked at him for a moment as Cristina inputted "You know Meredith is inbred?" everyone leaned in closer to the center of the table at this news, except Lia, she didn't want to be apart of this ganging up on Meredith when she too was inbred.

"Like it's uncommon around here to be a doctor's" George began, defending Meredith, until Cristina interrupted him "No, I mean royally inbred. Her mother is Ellis Grey." Everyone gasped at this, including Lia who was shocked to hear. "Shut up, the Ellis Grey?" the blonde next to Lia gasped lowly, prompting the korean descent woman to hum in reply, " Who's Ellis Grey?" George's confused voice questioned.

Everyone chuckled slightly and Cristina began "The Grey method? Where'd you go to med school, Mexico?" Izzie then continued "She was one of the first big chick surgeons, she practically invented the abdominal-"  "She's a living legend, she won the Harper Avery. Twice." Crisitna finished, the two of them looked and sounded like fangirls.

"So I didn't know one thing." George grumbles under his breath, "George its not a question of not knowing, it's a question of seemingly living under a rock, we talked about Doctor's who won the Harper Avery in school." Lia laughed slightly, biting into her sandwich. "Talk about parental pressure." Izzie couldn't help but mutter, "I would kill to have Ellis Grey as a mother. I would kill to be Ellis Grey. All I need is one good case." Cristina moans in sadness.

Meredith came over and sat down with her tray, an overly annoyed look on her face that screamed that she wanted to stab someone to death repeatedly with a scapel. "Katie Bryce is a pain in the ass. If I hadn't taken the Hippocratic oath, I'd Kevorkian her with my bare hands." she told everyone, explaining her sour mood, and although everyone looked at her like she was a painting at the museum, they could understand her fury, or at least Lia could to a small extent.

"Good afternoon interns. It's posted, but I thought I'd share the good news personally. As you know, the honour of performing the first surgery is reserved for the intern that shows the most promise. As I'm running the OR today, I get to make that choice." Dr. Burke, a man that were the interns not interns, they'd be fawning over him, greeted quite happily, his hand finding George's back, where it hits him with a certain amount of strength, "George O'Malley. You'll scrub in for an adipectomy this afternoon. Congratulations."

He then left the interns to themselves, leaving a gobsmacked intern and disappointed others, "May I take a wild guess and say you did something to a patient of his?" Lia questioned mockingly innocent, George looked at her his eyes slightly narrowed, "How do you know that?" he quizzed her, Lia took a swing of her water bottle before shrugging slightly and replying "Because he chose you rather quickly, and that's what any seasoned Doctor would do. It's what my dad would do, and what I would do and probably what Cristina would do as well."

Cristina, although disappointed that she had not been the one chosen, nodded at Lia's words, agreeing wholeheartedly, before she stopped and looked at the red-head who was taking another bite out of her sandwich, "You're father's also a Doctor?" curiosity filled her, making her eyes shine with it.

Meredith, who had not heard the earlier stages of the conversation frowned and slowly began to eat, Izzie and George were also looking at Lia, although the latter was still glaring, "Yeah, father, older brother and older sister." Lia replied, picking up her things and getting up from her seat "I'm also inbred." she told the group before turning away from the table, throwing her garbage away, keeping only her water bottle.
