I knew there was no way today could be a normal day. Whenever something happened in this group, even if it was as small as my date, they blew it out of proportion. Josie couldn't stop talking about what our kids would look like. Even though it made me visually uncomfortable, Cory looked as if he didn't care. Or maybe he had important things to think about.

"I got it!" We all jumped as Erikkson broke his fifteen-minute silence. "A Japanese-based shooting game where they have big asses instead of big tits!" The silence was unbearable but it never wiped the smile off of his face.

Just as I was about to go into detail about how that's a terrible idea, Cory did not beat me to it. "That's... fucking genius, man!" They did their "handshake" and goofed around about the idea until one of them eventually wrote it down. "He's a genius! This man is going to be a millionaire! Right, Tahlia?"

My eyes darted to his as I tried to make a smart move on this one. I thought the idea was perverted and shouldn't even have crossed a person's mind. But I couldn't say that. "Oh... where is Victor? He usually joins us in the morning."

Josie groaned at the sound of her brother's name even being spoken into existence. "Screw that guy. He was so bitchy this morning. He jumped out of the car and left us to open the school doors on our own. What a charmer."

It was only right to ask Victor if he was okay. Josie and Victor's way of making sure each other were fine was by picking every detail out about the other and hoping one of them laughed.

"It's about time I head to class. I'm practically always late." I gave Josie a goodbye hug then Tonya. Cory and Erikkson got a wave.

"Well, I'll go with you," Cory offered while lugging his bag over his shoulder.

I quickly turned down the gesture. It was best I go alone and think for a moment by myself. "No, it's fine. I have to stop by the restroom on my way."

The moment I was in the clear, I went straight for Victor's locker. He was always there before class and it was everyone's sure way to find him. It wasn't even luck that he was right there leaning against the metal doors with his phone in hand.

"Hey, Victor. You alright? We missed you this morning." Not a word escaped his mouth. Not even a glance my way. "Did I... do something wrong?" He then turned around to open his locker and start removing and adding things. I was invisible to him. "If I did or said anything can you at least tell me? This whole ignoring me thing is beyond childish-"

"You wanna know what's beyond childish?" He turned to face me so quickly that I was caught off guard at the anger in his voice. "All the shit I told you about that guy and you agree on this stupid date that was nothing but a show. I heard Josie and Tonya squealing about how he asked you out and you had the weak mentality to consider it."

All words were completely sucked from my thoughts. I didn't know if I should respond to him or just stand here and listen. There was nothing I could say that would calm him down because he knew everything apparently.

"I'm skipping school to study with Cynthia. Let all your friends know to not try and find me."

Just as he turned to walk away, I grabbed him by the shoulder and forced him to face me. "You have so much to say about Cory but he's just as much your friend if not more than I am."

"Erikkson is my friend. Cory is the free item in the buy one get one free deal."

"Did you hear what was on the news like ten minutes ago?!" I looked over my shoulder to see Josie pacing back and forth behind me. She uses the wall behind her bed for drawing cute things like hearts and flowers. She wants it to be completely covered before she goes off to college. This is what I drew on the moment I entered her room.
