It was an all out rampage. Teachers and staff were running around ramped moments after students started reporting high volumes of sexual disease concerns. At least that is what Josie made it seem like when it was announced that everyone must attend the forty minute presentation on the benefits of sex education. In reality, the rumor of ten people having chlamydia is basically freaking everyone out to the point that it's as if someone died on campus.
"Me and every girl in this school should be very concerned that men who claim us can't even keep it in their pants." Josie slammed her backpack on the table causing me to jump. "I'm so sick of hearing Griffin's name come out of every horny freshman in sight."
"Why did you keep it a secret that you and Griffin were even hooking up?" That's all I could really ask since I didn't care about anything else. I was probably the only one in my group who wasn't consistently getting dirty under the covers recently. I was sure I had nothing to worry about.
Josie sighed as if my questions came to her as a burden. "It was nice having my own little secret, you know? I tell you girls everything. I wanted to know how it felt to just sneak around."
I wouldn't be able to understand if I tried. My sneaking around involves not hurting any feelings. Her sneaking around was just privacy reasons. How unfortunate.
"My god!" Tonya scrambled over to us in three inch wedges and a look of pure fright on her face. "Tahlia, now you know I must ask. No more secrets girls. Do you understand?" Josie and I nodded just as Tonya focused her attention back on me. "Are you and Cory..." She stuck her index finger inside the circle she made with her other hand.
"Oh! No way. We haven't even kissed because... we're taking it slow." I winced at how silly that sounded coming out to everyone.
Tonya wiped fake sweat from her forehead. "Erikkson just confirmed that Cory has... it." Everyone at the table gasped but me. I knew that meant Cory was cheating but I knew that and I didn't have enough time to remember that I was supposed to be pretending that I didn't. "Why are you not infuriated?"
I started to explain how I can't make him un-cheat on me but then I remembered who he was cheating on me with. "Oh, shit!"
"Right! Oh shit!" Tonya repeated. "Taking it slow has its side effects. Now we know Cory can't be trusted. I'm going to tell him as soon as he gets here."
All three of us turned to face the cafeteria entrance for a good three minutes and saw no movement. It wasn't until Josie hit the table with her hand and gasped that the action finally started. "I just got the email from Victor's doctor!"
I started to gain interest until it kicked in that Josie was getting Victor's emails and not... Victor. "Why...?" Tonya asked before I could. "What are you? His guardian?"
"I made him a private email so our parents wouldn't get notified of his porn subscription in the mail. I just never logged out when I made it and his dumbass never changed the password." She did a little laugh before clicking on the email. "Victor... does not have it." She sounded a bit disappointed instead of excited. "Crap. Could have sworn that Cynthia girl was messing around with any guy with zero percent body fat."
"Even the tech nerds?" Tonya squirmed.
Josie nodded. "Even the tech nerds. Guess they weren't as rowdy as he's been going around saying they are."
A part of me was relieved and another part of me knew the truth. Cynthia hadn't been faithful for a while. Victor might have been one of the lucky ones.
"Welcome juniors to your sex education presentation that is taking time away from my important day because you guys apparently weren't listening when Mrs. Decko taught this required course when you were all freshmen." She clapped twice and the lights to the gym dimmed down. "First off, I would like to add that the rumor of everyone having a sexually transmitted disease because you share water fountains is false. Another example that sex education has failed us all."
"Hey," Victor whispered in my ear while taking the empty spot next to me. "Why are you sitting alone?"
"Uhm... Josie and Tonya went to get food. They said that the research they did last night was enough." I sent him a small smile.
He looked around the room and stopped when he spotted Cory and Erikkson sitting a few rows down. "Did you know?" He asked while jerking his head towards Cory. All I could do was sigh. "Do I have to tell you that he's an asshole or was the first ten times not enough."
"Do you want to know where he got it from." I smirked when he wiped the cocky grin off of his face. "I wasn't supposed to tell anyone but Cory and I broke up a couple of days ago. I'm not ready to force myself into something especially with someone I just really don't like. But on that same day... I found out he was hooking up with Cynthia."
"I knew she was too busy throughout the week for someone who gets too high to hold down a job. Why am I so dumb?"
"You're not dumb. We all make mistakes." He looked right into my eyes as soon as I said the last word. "Uhm... there's nothing wrong with that." I looked away just as the next slide came across the screen. "Anyways, Erikkson deserves this friend group even if Cory doesn't. I just hope he stays and we can throw out the free gift?"
We both looked down at Cory and laughed. "Cory isn't even that good of a hockey player. The girls hype him up because he looks like a starved model." I started laughing so hard that I almost fell out of my seat. "Am I lying?"
"Not at all," I admitted. "God, I feel bad for him though."
"You shouldn't." Victor was just about to put his hand on my hand until Josie and Tonya came squeezing by with bags of food. "Did you get me anything?" He asked a bit excited.
Josie rolled her eyes while dropping one of the bags on his lap. "Duh. I also texted you to meet us at the back door so we could hide the bag of fries in your ass like they do in this prison documentary I saw a while ago."
His face dropped. "That's not funny."
"For you," Tonya smiled while handing me a burger. "Bet you thought we weren't coming back. I just couldn't imagine leaving you here to watch this shit show by yourself."
"Yeah," I nodded. "I was just thinking how rude you two have gotten if you did."
"Shh!" Victor pressed a finger against my mouth. "This is my favorite part." We all faced forward to see a picture of what oral herpes looked like in full flare up.
Traumatizing.
