"GINO!! I still got it, baby!!" Josie rolled her eyes as Erikkson looked at her while hooting and hollering. "A line of bitter dusters. Why don't you get on the ice?"
He slid over to us before making a dramatic stop that flung a mist a shaved ice on to our knees. Josie tied her skates down then groaned after having struggled to put them on in the first place. "We'll get on when you three stop acting like a herd of horny dogs off their leashes." He brushed her off and flew right back on the ice. "I thought we'd be skating but on an actual floor."
"So did I," Tonya and I say at the same time.
We sat on the side lines talking and playing on our phones for over thirty minutes when the guys finally decided that their game of hockey was over. Cory came and scooped me up from my seat like some flying super hero. Victor grabbed Josie and Erikkson was with Tonya. They knew they would spend a majority of this time teaching us to ice skate so it made sense that they would get all of their fun out first.
"Lean forward slightly and bend your knees to even out your weight." His hands tightened on my waist as the directions began spilling out of his mouth. "I got you. The more you worry about falling then you'll lose focus and... fall."
"Well, thank you," I responded a bit nervous since falling is the only thing that crossed my mind.
"Also, you know your read receipts are on so I kinda know that you saw my text this morning." I wonder if he could feel my heart pounding through my sides? "I don't mean to apply pressure but our date was days ago and still nothing from you."
I had to think of something quick. He was breathing down my neck and also had full control on whether I busted my head open or not. "I just think you should meet my parents first. If they like you then that's your answer."
"Of course I'm going to get along well with your parents. My parents love me." He let go for a brief second to switch places with Victor. "Hold on. I got to ask Josie something."
I watched on in complete shock as Victor took me away and Cory whispered something in Josie's ear which caused her to hit him.
"Did your boyfriend teach you how to glide?" I shook my head quickly. "Watch my feet."
I knew I should be following his directions so one day I could skate freely on my own, but I couldn't take my eyes off how effortlessly he existed. As much concentration as I was putting into staying upright, he didn't even have to try. I often wondered if my presence annoyed him which is why he rarely smiled. Maybe he doesn't try because there's no reason to impress me.
"And he's not my boyfriend." This caused Victor to chuckle. "He hasn't met my parents. I can't go out with someone who hasn't gotten their approval."
"Your parents love me." He spoke down at me while pulling me closer to him. It was no mistake that he made a move every time he got the chance. "He doesn't have to be your boyfriend just because you two went on one date. I don't know why you are rushing."
"We're not. I want it to be perfect just like he does. Parental approval is a step towards that."
Victor chuckled while pointing across the way to Cory. "You really think your parents are going to like that." We both turned just in time to see him hit Erikkson in the back so hard that he knocked him off his feet. The two then broke out into an all out war that left Tonya and Josie stranded. "But yeah... one step closer to marriage. Also, how do you two have anything in common. You don't like sports or the side effects of alcohol and you've never spent more that three hours alone with him."
"I've known him for years. I know all the things he enjoys and I can just as easily get to enjoy them too." I quickly removed his hands from my waist since he was no longer teaching me anything. "You're always finding a way to bash every decision I make. I didn't ask for your advice."
