Three Years Later
Jimin didn't much believe in happily ever after. It terrified him that maybe there was something out there that could last forever. Something that he would never experience.
A year after he had moved from his hometown, he had started to work at a restaurant. He had done so well in college that he was recommended for a sous chef position. Well, he had to beg his teacher to look pass the fact that he had been such a delinquent but still. It was almost unheard of to just graduate and move pass the ranks so quickly, but Jimin had done it.
For the first time in his life he felt like he was doing something his mother could be proud of. And she was. She would call him every week and they would catch up on how they were doing. She had even found herself a husband. Jimin was more than happy she wasn't alone anymore. Plus, he approved of the man. He was a professor at the college Jimin used to attend. He was alright.
For Jimin, the pass three years had been a dream come true. He could be himself. He had friends who actually liked his personality and knew him. He had a wonderful penthouse apartment and now he was the proud owner of his own little bakery that opened three months ago. He had named it Macaroons. No it wasn't because of Jungkook. He had long forgotten about him. Or maybe not. But he remembered how everyone back at Sweet Alpaca had loved his macaroons. So it the pastry was dear to his heart.
Now that he was a head chef he had a little more free time in his schedule to bake at his own bakery, which he loved. He was thinking of being at his bakery full time but he was still on the fence about it.
Today was one of those days that he had a day off so he could go in and bake his favourite macaroons. He had loyal customers who would come in just for a taste of them.
"Hey Lily? You finish up in here while I go open the store." Jimin said to his assistant who nodded happily at him.
He smiled at her and went out to go open up the store to his early bird customers. About 10 minutes after, he heard the bell ring as he sorted out some pastries under the counter for display. He straightened up, "Ah, Mr. Briggs! Good morning. Your regular coming right up."
"Good morning to you too rice cake." The man greeted him the way he did every morning. Jimin chuckled, loving the familiarity of it all. He gracefully glided around the area, getting Mr. Briggs' order ready. He heard the bell chime again and quickened his pace.
"Hi. Do you have any macaroons ready?"
That voice. Jimin froze. He knew that voice. He quickly turned around and took in the cherry red hair, a memory from his past. "Y-yes. They're ready." He rushed over to give Mr. Briggs his order then went over to get the new customer's order.
"How many would you like sir?"
"Firstly, I'm Jeon Jungkook. No longer an undercover detective, but a cop here. I saw you in the window and I thought...that man his the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. Surely I could convince him to become mine."
Jimin tilted his head as understanding dawned on him. Jungkook wanted a fresh start. The past was behind them now and things were completely different.
Jimin suspired. Everyone deserves a second chance. Right?
So why the hell not?
He held out his hand, "Park Jimin. I'm the owner of this bakery. It's nice to meet you. I hope you become a regular here."
Jungkook lit up with utter joy as he winked, "You can bet on it"

A/N: I'm sorry I just love a Jikook happy ending. My heart couldn't bear leaving them apart. But realistically we all know life doesn't always have the happily ever after. But what the heck, it's my story and I live for the fairytales🤗🙂😘😍🥰
