I trusted you with my soul.
You easily found my soft spot,
And you took your thumb
And gouged out the blood from my
Already bleeding heart.
Sometimes it only takes days to love someone,
And it only takes one to lose them.
I opened up to you.
You saw your chance to have me
And you sought to use me
And you kissed me like you loved me
And you made me believe you did.
Sometimes it takes a kiss to make you realize
You lied when you made me love you
Because you did not love me.
I was so sure about you.
It only took a few days but I was sure
That this was my romance moment,
That I had found love in a hopeless place
You were the one thing in the world that felt real.
When we were screaming showtunes at midnight in my truck
Or sharing a box of runts candy you got from work
Because you remembered I said I liked them
And you wanted to try them with me.
God. I know it's stupid to fall so quickly,
But it's so hard to catch myself
When for so long I've been wanting to fall.
But I suppose I didn't care where I fell,
As long as I was off the edge.
I should've known you wouldn't be there
to catch me because you
were the one
who pushed me
