Deep, smooth breaths
As the lungs inflate
And the oxygen meets the blood.

Breathing faster.
Deep, sharp breaths
As the mind begins to wander
To the things it did not want to see.

Breathe in breathe out
Breathe in breathe out

Breathing quickly now.
Shallow, piercing breaths
As the heart races and eyes pace
Around the room for something to tie you down.

Breathing, hyperventilating
Breathe In
Inhaling no air at all
Breathe Out
As the body shakes and the soul quakes
Breathe In
And the vision starts to blur
Breathe Out
And the knees turn to rubber
Breathe In.

And the body slumps the the ground.
