the car ride home was silent. you kept your eyes fixed in your lap, fiddling with a loose stitch in your top.

when you pulled up outside tubbos house, you helped him and Lani carry the bags into the kitchen. still refusing to make eye contact with him.

"um, I know that what just happened.... just happened, but we kinda need to communicate to make a cake.. " Lani mentioned awkwardly.

"yea that's probably a good idea" you said letting out a shaky laugh.

"yea.. y/n could you grab the scales from the cupboard down there on the left please?" tubbo asked.

you could feel his eyes on you, but you didn't look up. you nodded and walked over to the cupboard.

"this it?" you asked holding up a white measuring unit.

"yea" he said walking towards you "we also need these bowls" he grabbed the bowls and your hand and dragged you back to the countertop with the ingredients.

"guys, no Offence but this is gonna be no fun if you guys are sad. " Lani said quietly "maybe we should just chill for a while, possibly watch a film, then try again tomorrow?... "

"yea, um yea that's a good idea." you replied monotonously. "um excuse me I'll be right back"

you ran up the stairs to the bedroom you slept in so often and got changed into sweatpants and tubbos hoodie. the soft material comforted you slightly.

*knock knock* "y/n?" tubbo asked through the door, "can I come in?"

"yea, yea come in I don't mind" you fixed your eyes in your lap again and rubbed your hands together anxiously.

the mattress bounced slightly as he sat down next to you.

"why won't you look at me?" he asked quietly

you stayed silent.

"y/n...is it because I shouted at ellie?"

"no-"

"then why is it?"

"it's not anything to do with you.. I just feel shitty for ruining today. now Lani can't make her cakes and your upset and she's really hurt me and-"

"y/n." he said in a stronger but still soft voice, "I love you, and Lani does too, we both know what happened there today and we understand it completely. we know what happened and we know things were said. Lani knows it's not your fault that this happened and that you and me are upset, and she is absolutely fine with it. she just wants to help make us happy again. okay?"

you nodded slowly.

"will you look at me now?" he asked a hint of sadness hidden in his voice.

he placed his hand gently under your chin and ever so slightly nudged it upwards. you then followed his movement and looked up into his eyes.

"there are those beautiful eyes I was looking for" he smiled

you breathed out a shaky laugh.

"you know what I hated, so much about our relationship before we dated?"

"what?" you asked slightly taken aback.

"not being able to compliment you and hug you and kiss you" he said then he kissed you right there and then. (you can imagine it being as long or as short as you want :))

"thank you" you said, blushing madly and smiling slightly.

"well if a kiss is all it takes to cheer you up then a kiss is a beautiful cure" he said laughing.

he wrapped his arms around your stomach and rested his head on yours.

"I love you tubbo, tubboat, tubbox or what ever the hell you are these days. I love you"

"I love you too nugget"

"nugget?" you asked laughing

"what it's cute!"

you rolled your eyes and melted into him letting him sway you to sleep.
