It was a week before the pair were set to break up. Alexandria was quite ill as she had come down with the flu. The flu always hit her hard. She was constantly in the washroom, throwing up. She was so weak she could barely move without her body feeling like it's on fire. It was a sudden onset too. She was fine one day and severely sick the next. But she expected it. She always got sick around this time, every year and it usually lasted for three to four days.
Wanting some sort of comfort, she set to call her boyfriend. Even though they'd just talked the previous week about how communication is the key to a healthy relationship, Niall still seemed to turn to alcohol. She was trying her best to get Niall to talk to her. It wasn't that Niall was being adamant, no. He just stopped seeing her altogether. He only over saw her when he was already inebriated.
He became a stranger in her life.
After the fifth call, she just gave up. She was so exhausted and wanted nothing more than a good sleep but even that her body didn't let her. She felt the need to throw up every half an hour. How could she ever sleep? She looked quite miserable too. Her hair up in a bun so it wouldn't get messy from all the throwing up. She was just in a tank top and her underwear because her body felt on fire but she felt cold.
She finally decided to call someone to help but she tried her boyfriend one last time in hopes he'd pick up. The call rang and rang and just before she thought she'd give up, the call was finally picked up.
"Oh thank god Niall-," She was cut off by Niall's loud moans. She was so worried. She prayed that he was all alone. She desperately wished he was. But only if someone heard her prayers.
Not a minute later she heard a more shrill moan through the phone. She could hear Niall say her name, frantic 'Lexa's slipped out of his mouth, while he was sleeping with some other girl.
The already sick girl, felt even more sick as she ended the call. She rushed to the washroom, not being able to contain the throw up that forced its way through her. She was utterly disgusted by him. She pulled her hair back as she heaved into the toilet. This was a terrible time for her to be sick.
She pulled back, leaned against the washroom's tiles, and cried into her palms. She should've listened to Louis, she scolded herself. He knew this wouldn't end well. Niall wasn't the type of man to commit to a relationship. Even she knew it before getting into a relationship with him. She wished he'd change for her, she believed he had. But oh was she wrong.
She trusted him so much. She loved him with her whole heart and he just stamped all over it, shattering it into millions of pieces. He asked her not to leave him but he's the one who pushed her away, he's the one who left her. She loved him and all she got back was just pure heartbreak.
She decided to ignore Louis and her rational mind and went with her emotional heart. She developed such strong feelings for him so quickly and the world gave her nicely for doing so.
She felt so hurt and betrayed. Every time he went out, she knew that he'd get drunk. She was never worried of him cheating on her because he was the kind of person who did nothing to make her feel unwanted. He was always by her side, showering her in love. She hates him. He had to go ahead and ruin her. He shattered her. All she did was give him love and he took all of it and threw it away.
Waking up the next morning, her eyes were puffy from all the crying. Her head hurt and she really wanted to just fall back asleep. She'd been through too much in the past 12 hours and she was so done with everything.
Sleep seemed like a heavenly dream from her nightmarish reality.
She hauled herself to the washroom and tried to look somewhat presentable. She knew Niall would be downstairs and for some reason she wanted to present herself in a better way for him. She left her door open for him because she knew she couldn't open the door the previous night. She didn't want to face him. But she had to. She knew she had to.
