A/N: Before I go on about how I don't own MHA, let me just say that I don't own MHA.
"Mom, I'm home!" Izuku shouted upon walking through the door. He could hear her meandering around the kitchen, most likely preparing to start dinner.
"Hi honey! How was your day?" she greeted.
"It was...odd. There were a lot of news reporters at the gate, and they somehow managed to set off the alarm inside. But everything's fine, the teachers got the cops on them. Oh, and we had a quirkless spar just today," the green haired teen recalled aloud.
"A quirkless spar? As in a fight?" his mother restated just to be sure.
"Yes, but it was for hero training. We were supervised and the teacher got a good lesson out of it."
"How did you do?" Inko asked.
"I won. Bakugo and Todoroki were the last challenges. But they were easy, all things considered."
It was still hard for Inko to believe that her quirkless son was taking the same classes that some of the most renowned heroes took in their day. Simply put, he was awe-inspiring.
"Anyway, I have some homework I should get started on. Let me know when dinner's ready," he requested, then walked down the hall and closed himself in his room.
Most of the night went by smoothly. Izuku finished what classwork he had left before his mother had to call him. After dinner, he took another trip out and thoroughly explored stores old and new.
He also made a trip to a hardware store and a few other shops that wouldn't expect business from a fifteen-year-old boy. After a few quick looks around each store he returned home with a few additional combat knives with sheaths, a new All Might figurine, and a small package of chocolates for him and his mom to share.
The walk to the apartment was relaxing. The air was cool with a slight breeze, but nothing too penetrating. He didn't pass by too many people, and whoever he did pass minded their own business. Before ten-thirty he was back home eating candies with his mom.
"Any more of those action figures and you'll need a storage compartment downtown," Inko joked. But she wasn't too far off; he did have a lot of All Might memorabilia. Not to mention the few pieces of merchandise from other heroes.
"Maybe I should look into it," he replied. "I'm going to bed. Goodnight," he offered. Inside his room, he pulled out his arsenal and made his usual plans regarding what would and wouldn't be usable. By now he had the items Stain had given him, the two knives he took from the muggers, the blades he had just bought, and nowhere to hold them all at once.
The manriki chain was obviously necessary; it had become his favorite weapon due to its speed and versatility. The staff was useful, but being retractable made it weaker than the real deal, so he couldn't afford to rely on it too much. In the end, he stuffed one of the switchblades and a new knife he bought into his bag. That was the last thing he did before wrapping himself up in his covers and falling asleep on the floor.
"Hello again everyone," Mr. Aizawa greeted as he entered the hero basic training class.
"Are you in for All Might again today sir?" Hagakure asked at his arrival.
"Sort of. Today's class will now be taught by me, All Might, and a third instructor.
'Now? So it's changed within the day?' Izuku thought to himself after hearing the odd wording of the response.
"What're we going to be doing?" Mineta asked from behind the pondering teen.
A card much like the one All Might had displayed on the first day was held up by Mr. Aizawa, only this one was written in blue, with the word 'Rescue' in all capitals.
