Aaryan was drowning into unfathomable darkness.

He had lost any hope of surviving..But he felt something...definitely.A compulsion..A certain longing that was holding him back, not letting him sink further. It was this stronger pulling force that eventually won.It slowly dragged him out of the horrible darkness and he could hear  beeping and buzzing noises at a far distance. As the seconds passed by,the voices surrounding him got louder and clearer, the beeping was coming from a machine just beside him,it was so shrill that made him cringe.

As he was coming back to life the first thing he felt was a severe pain in his stomach, then he could feel soreness in his back and arms, every inch of his body ached and his head felt like it would burst open any moment.

He flickered his eyes open, the harsh light above was disturbing, not letting him see but what was more disturbing was the shouting of a woman.."Mam,how many times we need to tell you, please step back, please let the patient rest.".With this he felt a certain weight getting lifted off his chest...he opened his eyes completely.,the first thing he saw was Anjali. She appeared exhausted and tattered, her clothes colored in his blood, her hair all messy and her face so pale.

"Anjali..",Aaryan whispered with any stamina that he had left somewhere.

Anjali looked up to him,and a small smile crept up to his face. Her eyes reflected the desperation with which she wanted him to be back.

"Aaryan...Are you okay..",she said in the faintest of voice. It took her time to realize that he was actually awake, and her tense features relaxed suddenly,as if someone had breathed life into her. "You Bloody....idiot.You know you are a real pain in the ass........You got me scared to death.Seriously..Stupid..Rascal...",She wiped out her eyes with the back of her hand. She wanted to punch him hard on his face for smiling so cutely when he had all his body parts screwed up.

The nurse practically had to push her out."Mam the doctors have to check him.,And the police has to take his statement.Pleave leave the room"

"How long has it been since I was brought here?",Aaryan asked the nurse when she was checking his blood pressure.

"Yesterday night, you were brought here, and today its almost noon now".The nurse replied.

"And what about her?",Aaryan indicated towards Anjali standing outside his room ,acting resltess.

"This young lady...she's been all along your side-throughout.. she even tried to follow you to operation theatre.Totally frantic..she is.We told her to leave your room but she didn't move for the entire night..Even after donating you two bottles of blood..she isn't resting..If you had woken up a little late..you would have definitely seen another patient in a bed beside you.",she answered with a sigh.

"She loves you a lot isn't it...",the nurse asked after a while, she was a middle aged women who was quite involved in checking the bandages on his abdomen.

Aaryan smiled and tried to get up.It ached badly. His whole body felt so stiff like he'd been lying in that position for years.

"No..Don't move at all..You had been stabbed brutally. And had to undergo three major  surgeries. You need complete rest to recover.",she explained.

The police entered at that moment and intervened."Glad to see you awake Sir,how are you feeling now.?"

"As Wrecked as you see me.",Aaryan said with a small laugh.

"Sir,We want to ask you some questions related to the attack..Will you cooperate?,Please.I know we are troubling you..But its our duty!"

Aaryan went forth to explain how he had went to the airport to recieve his friend, but got to know that her flight had been cancelled. So he was returning to meet Anjali, they had planned a meeting. But out of nowhere, some bikers.4 or 5,they started circling him and he got out of the car to ask what they wanted.Suddenly one of them attacked him from the back..Hit him hard on his head..And he remembered someone lunging a knife into his midriff,..And they were even going to shoot him.But Anjali saved him at the right moment.
