jaemin was seated on a bench in the school playground, looking the people chatting while he was staying alone, far from the crowd.

he was good over there, no one bothering him or scaring him.

if only it could last...

"hello." someone approached him with a grin.

it was the same boy that had given him a creepy smile the day before, when he was handing out papers.

jaemin's eyes widened on their own and he looked around, as if to make sure this boy was talking to him.

"i know you are new in this school, so i wanted to welcome you and tell you that i could become your friend if you wanted?" the boy spoke, his smile never disappearing.

jaemin gulped, his eyes blinking at a not so natural pace, and his heart ready to jump off a cliff.

he didn't need to give an answer, did he?

"sorry, i didn't introduce myself. i'm renjun." the boy pulled his hand out for jaemin to shake.

jaemin stared at the hand for a while before hesitantly pulling his own out and shaking the other's hand carefully.

"what about you?" renjun asked, looking at jaemin expectantly.

needless to say, this was too much for jaemin to handle.

the boy panicked, tears welling up in his eyes as he started hyperventilating right under renjun's gaze.

and so, jaemin ran away, the furthest away from his problems, and for this way-too-curious boy.

jaemin was more stressed than ever.

the renjun guy had come to him three days ago, and jaemin had ran away like a coward.

since then, renjun had tried approaching him a few times more, but jaemin always managed to run away before renjun could get to him.

this boy was seriously creeping him out.

what could he want form jaemin?

"please, jaemin, could you solve that for me on the board?" the teacher interrupted jaemin's thoughts.

the teenager tried calming his heart that had fastened up at the sole idea of stepping to the board and having all eyes on him.

sadly, he didn't have much choice, so he picked his copybook up, got to the board, and used a chalk to write the whole calculus down while the whole classroom checked if their answers were rights.

jaemin's hand was trembling while holding the chalk.

his usually pretty handwriting was getting all messed up on this giant chalkboard because of his nerves.

he could feel the students' stares on him, and it was scaring him.

he put the chalk down when he had finished writing his calculus, turning around to go back to his seat immediately, but he was interrupted by the teacher.

"are you sure?" he asked, reading the calculus quickly.

jaemin glanced at the board, nodding quickly.

he hated having all this attention on him, and if he had just made a mistake at the board, that would bring even more attention on him.

the teacher checked the calculus one last time before nodding as well.

"and you are right. thank you jaemin." he said, inviting jaemin to regain his seat.

jaemin walked back there, meeting eyes with renjun when he was walking, causing him to lower his head immediately.

once he had sat down, he didn't dare turning around and check if renjun's attention was still on him. he knew the boy was still looking at him. he could feel it...

jaemin entered the classroom when he got there in the morning, walking to his seat and plopping down.

it was friday. last day of school of the week. finally.

in the end, his first week of school hadn't been the most disastrous.

sure, there was the boy, renjun, who kept trying to approach him, but other than that, he had managed to spend a whole week into this dangerous place without needing to talk.

"hello jaemin." someone greeted him, stopping in front of his desk.

jaemin lifted his head slowly, not knowing what to do.

of course, his eyes met renjun's ones, and he was greeted with a warm smile.

so, the boy knew his name...

there had to be something wrong.

why did renjun keep trin got approach him with a smile?

jaemin had already ran away multiple times, and he had never answered to any of his questions.

so why was rejun persisting?

did he want to hurt jaemin?

"thank god it's friday, huh?" renjun asked, setting his hands on jaemin's desk and leaning forward, making jaemin back off in fear.

he nodded slowly, not really knowing what to do considering he wasn't able to use his mouth to tell him to leave him alone.

"so..." renjun persisted. "do you like this school so far?"

jaemin wanted to scream at him at the moment.

how much he wanted just to yell 'NO', and tell him how much he hated having him always staring at him and trying to approach him.

he felt the urge to just let out the meanest and the stupidest words he could think of at the moment, just to make renjun go away.

but he couldn't.

his body didn't allow him to do so.

the sounds refused to go out of his mouth.

he was so scared at the moment...

"renjun, stop bothering him." someone came, pulling renjun away by circling their arms around renjun's waist. "sorry, jaemin." the boy added on a not so kind tone, but it didn't matter to jaemin.

at least, this boy had saved him from the burden that renjun was to him.
