jaemin walked to school feeling completely void.

jeno and renjun still hadn't answered to any of his texts, even those he has sent in the morning.

he was wondering if those two boys ever cared for him...

he entered the busy school, feeling insecure and scared as usual, but it was nothing compared to his broken heart today.

while walking to school, he had the bad idea to look in front of his instead of staring at his feet like usual. this caused him to meet eyes with renjun.

yeah. that was the sound of his heart breaking even more.

what he didn't expect though, was to be embraced by the smaller boy in the second that followed his heart breaking.

and what was even more surprising was hearing renjun sobbing uncontrollably in the crook of his neck.

"j-jaemin... i... i- messed up... s-so bad..." renjun cried, holding onto jaemin for dear life.

jaemin's heart stopped beating, thinking that maybe, just maybe, he had judged thigs too quickly, and he had thought about his selfish self when his friends were having trouble.

"what happened?" he asked, circling his arms around the shaking boy in his arms.

"it's j-jeno..." renjun told.

for a quick second, jaemin got worried.

did something bad happen to jeno?

had he had an accident?

it's true that he wasn't here with renjun at the moment.

maybe he was in trouble.

"did something happen?" jaemin questioned, obvious worry in his voice.

"i... i said something... a-and... i shouldn't have..." renjun explained, pulling out of the hug and rubbing his already swollen eyes. "a-and now he's questioning my love..."

not much time was needed for renjun to break down in tears again and lean on jaemin who caught him in his embrace.

jaemin felt uneasy.

he didn't know how to comfort people.

he just, rubbed circles on renjun's back, trying to reassure him, but he knew very well that he wasn't the one with words. how could he calm someone down with words when he was insecure about them in the first place?

"why?" he whispered.

and so, renjun told him everything.

every single detail.

from him being poly to him catching feelings for jaemin.

everything.

jaemin felt his chest lightening in his chest.

so, he could love two people.

and he had a chance to be with them.

well... one of them at least.
