Dream opened his eyes. He felt like a million hammers were pounding into his head at the same time and there was a strange ringing in his ears. He grunted and shifted slightly, eyeing his surroundings. He seemed to be in a small prison cell, no more than six by four feet. Where am I? Dream thought. His memory was fuzzy but he remembered talking to his friends and then suddenly being attacked.
"Hey," Dream said, wondering if anyone was near him. "Hey!" He yelled a bit louder, scooting over to the iron bars that separated him from a long hallway.
"What do you want, kid," A man said.
"I'm twenty-one," Dream snapped. "I'm not a kid,"
"Yeah yeah, anything important to say?" The guard said. He had dirty blond hair and blue eyes and he wore iron armor with what looked like a pink and blue tiger symbol on his chest.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Dream demanded.
"Well, my name's not really important," The man shrugged. "You're in one of the prison cells-"
"Yeah, I can see that," Dream scoffed, flicking one of the iron bars and causing it to vibrate slightly.
"You didn't let me finish," The guard said. "You're in the Beast Arena, being held here until we match you with someone to fight,"
"Uh, what?" Dream said.
"Yeah, you fight some newbies until you reach our champion," The man shrugged. Dream was silent for a moment as he thought of what this meant.
"What's your name?" Dream decided to ask. He was confused right now and the least he could know was this guard's name.
"Not import-" The guard started.
"Name," Dream demanded.
"Chris," The guard sighed with a half-smile. "I heard you're a dragon slayer or whatever,"
"Yeah," Dream said. "I kill dragons,"
"Cool, I'm just one of MrBeast's closest friends, I guard as a pastime," Chris shrugged.
"So you're actually kinda important?" Dream said, tilting his head.
"Well, the champion is mine," Chris said. "I brought him here so now I get paid every time he wins. He's unbeatable so... sorry to say but you're going to die even if you do make it to fighting him,"
"I kill dragons for a living," Dream said pointedly.
"Alright 'Dragon slayer' I've got better things to do than talk to you," Chris chuckled. Dream watched him leave and turned to look out a window in the back of his cell. He peered out it and saw that it led to a massive arena where two people were fighting. One was a woman with long blond hair and the other was a man with a blue and black mask. Dream had his own mask, it was made out of white mesh with a smiley face on it. He liked how simple his mask was compared to some other masked people he'd met in his life.
The woman spun around before turning and driving her diamond dagger into the man's gut and forcing him to his knees. He fell over sideways and Dream knew he must be dead or dying. This is pretty gruesome. He thought. Cheers and some boos erupted from above and in front of Dream and he looked around, realizing he must be under some sort of stadium. I don't want to kill people. I kill dragons, not other people. Dream thought worriedly. He decided he'd try to escape if they brought him into the arena. Or maybe he could negotiate with someone and they could team up and escape... He sighed and watched as the winning woman was led toward a massive garage-type door near one end of the arena.
"I'll escape," He promised himself. "And I'll get back to George and Sapnap," He sighed and watched as two more people were led into the arena and knew this would be a long day.
Hi guys, just a heads up, these chapters will all be around 1,000 words, this one is only 650 or so but that's because it's the prologue and I know you'd rather see Dream fighting than alone in a prison cell. Ok, bye :)
