"Hey," Dream said to a guard who was posted outside his cell. Since he'd try to escape they weren't exactly pleased with him. He always had two guards with him wherever he went and now he had one posted outside his cell. The guard turned around, looking bored.

"What," He sighed.

"Do you have a place where we can practice fighting?" Dream asked slowly. He was still against killing innocent people but... if he was going to fight Technoblade and survive he'd need some practice.

"Yes but it's usually just for the diamond league and above," The guard said.

"Usually?" Dream said hopefully.

"You'd have to talk to your owner," Dream cringed at the term 'owner' but said nothing.

"Can you ask him about it?" The guard sighed and walked away after a moment. Soon there was another man to replace him and Dream glanced out the window to see who was fighting. He noticed with a start that it was Technoblade against a man wearing jet black clothes and armor. Dream walked toward the window and watched as Techno spun around his opponent and landed a shallow blow on his back before dodging a blow. He held his diamond blade up and knocked his opponent's with such force that it was flung from his grasp.

Dream watched as Techno mercilessly drove his blade into his enemy's gut before pulling away and watching as he fell to his knees and then into the dust. Dream felt a knot of fear rise inside him as he stared at the motionless form of the black-cloaked man.

"He said sure," Dream was snapped from his thoughts as he heard a voice and turned around to see the original guard standing before him. "We'll walk you there," Dream nodded stiffly as they opened the door, this time making sure to block it better. Dream wasn't planning on trying to escape this time, he didn't feel up to it since his last encounter with Technoblade. They led him down a few halls until there was a set of double doors.

"Thanks-" Dream was cut off as one of the men shoved him into the room and locked the doors behind him. "So kind of you," He muttered, looking around. The room was fairly small with some bows, axes, swords, and even fishing rods in various places along the walls and on stands. Fishing rods... huh. He thought. There were a few people practicing with guards or shooting at dummies while others just watched each other as if taking notes. When Dream walked in several people looked up from what they were doing and altogether stopped.

"One rule, no fighting other people," Dream looked to his side and spotted Chris watching him with another man beside him. The other man was slightly taller than him with dark brown hair and brown eyes.

"Ok," Dream said, heading toward the bows. He examined them each carefully before taking one that wasn't too fancy but not too simple. He grabbed a few arrows, ignoring the thought of killing Chris and the other man and making another break for it, and walked toward some dummies lined against a wall.

He notched an arrow and aimed at the head of one of the dummies. He was pretty good with a bow, he'd shot many dragons. He missed at first, shooting the dummy somewhere in the neck and then again a few times before finally getting a feel for the bow and finally struck it right between the eyes. He took a deep breath and notched another arrow before moving to the next dummy. He nailed that one as well and moved to the next, and the next until he realized he'd shot them all.

"That's Karl's guy?" Dream turned around as he heard Chris's friend speak.

"Yeah," Chris replied quietly. "His name's Dream,"

"Huh," The man said.

"Oh hi, I'm Chandler," The man said once he realized Dream was staring at him.

"Hi," Dream said.

"He speaks," Chanler whispered. "Most people don't talk to me," Chris scoffed. Dream said nothing and walked back to the bow rack, setting his bow down and then heading for the axes. He loved axes, he was good with them.

"How am I supposed to practice with an ax without fighting someone else?" Dream asked after a moment of staring at the wooden ax. Chandler and Chris exchanged a look and said nothing for a moment.

"I'll fight you," Dream stiffened and turned to see someone he really hoped he wouldn't. Technoblade was leaning against a wall, staring lazily at him from behind that creep pig mask he constantly wore.

"That's not allowed-" Chris started. Techno raised a hand to silence him but held Dream's gaze.

"You'll kill him," Chandler said after a moment.

"I won't hurt him," Techno promised. Dream said nothing, gripping his ax like it was all that was keeping him alive, and maybe it was. Technoblade started forward slowly and took a wooden ax from the shelf, turning it around, and nodded silently.

"H-hi," Dream said.

"Hello," Techno replied. He headed to a clear space in the middle of the room and stood there with his ax. Dream slowly walked toward him with his own ax. "Don't hurt me too badly, I won't hurt you too badly," Techno said. "Easy," Dream nodded and glanced at Chandler and Chris who were watching him disapprovingly. "You can go first," Dream took a deep breath before swinging lightly at Technoblade, not wanting to hurt him. The other man blocked easily and thrust him away. "Try harder," He ordered.

"Ok," Dream muttered. This time he twisted and swung even harder. Technoblade shifted and blocked the blow again, smiling slightly. He nodded approvingly and used his ax to once again fling Dream away. Dream stumbled a bit and gripped his ax, skidding to a halt so he wouldn't fall over. Some small part of him was afraid that if he did something wrong Technoblade would kill him.

"Come on, you won't hurt me," Techno said. Dream narrowed his eyes, swinging at Techno. The other man blocked his blow just as Dream had thought and at once he shifted and swung again, striking him on the side with such force that he was sure to have drawn a little blood. Techno winced and stumbled to the side, causing Chris and Chandler to let out quiet gasps. Dream froze and watched as Technoblade's cream-colored shirt started to stain red in some places along the spot where Dream had hit him.

"I'm sorry- I didn't mean to," Dream stammered, his hands shaky. Techno looked up at him from where he was standing a few feet away from Dream and said nothing. He stood up straighter and opened his mouth to say something but before he could four guards came forward, wrenched the ax from his grasp, and dragged him out the door. Techno looked a bit surprised and he didn't have time to finish whatever it was he was going to say. Dream let out a breath of relief as the doors locked after Technoblade.

"And that's why we don't fight each other," Chris muttered, eyeing the people that were gathered around Dream. Dream stiffened as he realized they had formed a circle around the area where he and Techno had been fighting. "Because when they fight in the arena, I don't think Technoblade will be going easy." Dream said nothing and hurried toward the ax rack. He sloppily put it away and headed quickly for the door. Two things unsettled him. One, that Chris was so certain Dream and Techno would fight again, and two... two that he may have just created a grudge with a very dangerous man.

BTW, this is not one of those Dream X Technoblade stories. I don't like writing that stuff, this is just... I'm not entirely sure. Just read the book.
