Dream ignored the yells of indignation as he dashed through the halls. This time he knew where he was going, he had been here far too long and he wouldn't be here much longer. He turned a sharp left and sprinted toward the doors that he saw in the distance.

"Hey!" Dream faltered as he heard a booming voice and spotted the pig mask turn a corner to his right. Technoblade had a diamond blade and Dream didn't have a weapon. His eyes were narrowed and he didn't look like he was in a good mood. Dream skidded to a halt and tried to double back, he turned right quickly, evading Technoblae and the guards, and made a run for another hallway.

The stone walls glimmered in the torchlight and Dream knew it must be nighttime outside. If I can get outside they'll never be able to catch me and I can go home. Dream thought, turning left quickly. He spotted another door and quickened his pace, not that he wasn't going fast already, as he neared it. Suddenly something barreled into him and he was flung backward against a wall. He gasped, the wind driven from his lungs, and felt a rush of fear as he spotted the golden crown. Dream just had enough time to duck as Technoblade swung at his head and skid to the side.

"There is no escape, Dream," Techno snarled, wrenching his blade from a crack he had created in the wall and turned to face Dream again. Dream turned to run back again but there were four guards heading his way. They were decently far away and once they saw Technoblade they stopped running so Dream knew they wouldn't be a part of this fight.

"I just want to see my friends again!" Dream yelled. "I want to tell them George is dead and mourn with them," He snarled. Techno's expression didn't falter and he still looked angry.

"I wish I had someone to mourn Phil with but I don't," Techno snarled. "I have nothing, and you don't either. Your friends have probably forgotten about you by now." He snapped. Dream gritted his teeth angrily and glared at Techno.

"That's not true!" He cried. "You're just jealous because you don't have any friends!" Techoblade said nothing, he looked away for a moment before looking back at Dream angrily.

"I don't need friends," he hissed, swinging at Dream again. Dream dodged and stumbled backward, using the wall for support. He dodged again but Techno spun and kicked him in the knee, sending him to the ground with a sharp cry of pain. His leg gave way under him and he clutched his knee painfully. "This time I'm not letting you get back up," Techno snarled, raising his sword. Dream clenched his eyes shut and raised a hand to shield his face from the blow even though he knew it would do nothing to stop the diamond blade from reaching him.

Dream heard a clang, like metal against metal, and took a deep breath. He squinted and saw someone holding a blade to block Techno's sword from hitting Dream. Technoblade looked up from Dream, his blue eyes glistening with rage, and then stopped as he realized who it was.

"Save it for the arena," Chris said, lowering his sword and meeting Techno's gaze evenly. Dream half-expected Technoblade to ignore Chris and kill them both but after a moment he lowered his sword, his eyes still narrowed angrily. He turned to look at Dream and shook his head slowly, turning away.

"Chris is my friend," Techno muttered to himself, shooting Dream a glance over his shoulder, before heading back down the hall. Dream shakily got to his feet but his knee gave way again and he had to grip the wall to stay standing. He let out a breath of pain and realized his leg was twisted awkwardly and it must have been broken.

"So he broke your leg," Chris observed. "I'll talk to him," He nodded to Karl and a few other guards before heading after Technoblade quickly. Dream growled under his breath as the guards roughly started to drag him back down the halls and winced each time they moved.

"Be careful with him," Karl snapped after a while. The guards slowed down a bit and the pain lessened slightly. They threw Dream back in his cell and he winced sharply as his leg hit the floor. He shifted to lean against a wall and closed his eyes, trying to think of something to make the pain go away. "I'll be right back," Just leave me alone. Dream groaned inwardly. He didn't want to talk to anyone right now and even if he did Karl was probably the last person he'd go to. After a moment Dream heard the iron door opened and he opened his eyes to see Karl. He was holding some sort of bottle with a glowing green liquid inside and Dream recognized a potion o healing. "Here," Karl handed him the bottle and Dream tentatively took it, still a bit tired from running around the castle and almost dying.

Karl left without a word and Dream drank the potion, sighing as the pain almost altogether vanished. He shifted his leg and sure enough it didn't hurt as badly as before.

"Thanks," He wasn't sure if Karl was listening or not but he said it anyway, setting the empty glass bottle down beside him. He stared out the iron bars for a while until more footsteps sounded, heavier footsteps and two sets of them.

"Dream," Dream stiffened as he heard Technoblade's voice and then relaxed slightly as he saw Chris come up beside him. Technoblade was glaring at him from behind that pig mask and he was no longer holding his diamond sword. "I'm sorry I almost killed you," He growled.

"Yeah," Dream muttered. Techno shot Chris a look and Chris nudged him lightly.

"And I'm sorry I broke your leg," He added, his voice low.

"Um..." Dream didn't really know what to say. At least iron bars separated them now, he wasn't sure Chris would be able to stop Technoblade a second time if he suddenly decided to attack and he didn't really want to test it. Before anyone said anything, Techno turned and marched away, leaving Chris to stared after him and look slightly annoyed.

"He's just angry," Chris sighed. "He gets like this sometimes," Dream nodded but didn't say anything. "Alright, get well soon," He said with a smile, turning and heading after Technoblade again. How am I supposed to fight him. Dream thought. He's too good.
