P.s. all chapters 1-7 were written between the time frame 10:00 and 12:30 am. Idk if you needed to know that, just in case I made some mistakes blame the time lol.

Today was the day. Today the fight Dream had been preparing for was about to happen, although he felt all his hard work wouldn't pay off. He just had to try his best and if he failed... well, at least he'd see George again.

"You've got twenty minutes," Karl said from the other side of the iron bars. "Stop pacing, you'll tire yourself," Dream was currently pacing back and forth, glancing out the window every once in a while. He took a deep breath, he'd fought many people in the past few weeks, he'd even fought Technoblade three times before now, but he was not ready for this. Every time I fought him he ended up winning. Dream thought nervously. Ok, technically the first time I didn't necessarily lose, so that's kinda a win... Dream sighed and looked out the window. No one was in the arena right now, they were all too eager for the real show to start to pay attention to a small fight.

"I'm gonna die," Dream muttered to himself, shaking his head slowly. He felt lightheaded but he forced himself to stay standing.

"Stop friggin pacing," Karl said. Dream shot him an annoyed look but he knew Karl couldn't see under his white mask.

"Come in here and stop me," He growled, walking from one end of the wall to the next and ignoring Karl's annoyed look. Dream stopped paying attention to him after a while and he looked up when he heard the iron door open.

"Stop pacing," Karl said, closing the door behind him.

"I was kidding about coming in here," Dream said. "You're an idiot, I could kill you,"

"If Chris can stop Technoblade from killing you, I think I can stop you from pacing," Karl scoffed.

"I'm not Technoblade and you aren't Chris," Dream warned. He stopped pacing and turned to stare at Karl who shifted nervously. "The trick is not to look nervous, so stop figiting," Dream said.

"I'm not scared of you," Karl said.

"Really," Dream said, taking a few overly-slow steps toward Karl. "Really?" He repeated, leaning toward him. Karl held his ground but he still looked frightened. Dream grinned and smack Karl's shoulder with his hand, causing the other man to yelp with surprise and stumble back against the iron bars. "Wow, you're so brave," Dream scoffed. Karl gathered himself and glared at Dream angrily.

"Cut it out," Karl growled.

"You're scared, admit it," Dream chuckled. "I just want you to admit it," Karl shook his head indignantly.

"I'm not scared of you," He crossed his arms to hide the fact his hands were shaking violently.

"Fine," Dream said. "Then go over by the wall and sit down," Karl didn't move for a moment as Dream nodded to the far wall. "I mean, unless you're scared. If you're scared you can just leave-"

"Fine!" Karl cried, walking over to the far wall and sitting down with a glare. Dream smiled smugly even though Karl wouldn't be able to see his grin.

"Oh look, you're trapped and the door is open," Dream said. Karl said nothing. "You've been bamboozled," Dream chuckled. "See, if I wanted to escape I could,"

"Then why don't you," Karl asked after a moment.

"Because I'll likely run into Technoblade and die," Dream said. Karl said nothing and stood up, walking past Dream and out the iron door. He locked it quickly and sighed. "Why are you scared of admitting you're scared?" Dream asked, crossing his arms. Karl said nothing for a moment. "I'm scared of Technoblade, you happy?" Karl still didn't say anything.

"I'm scared of Technoblade too," Karl sighed. "And you," He muttered, looking at the ground.

"Now that that's settled," Dream chuckled. "I should get to the armor room," He felt his amusement fade to anxiety and took a deep breath. Karl looked up and nodded, opening the iron door and following Dream as he headed stiffly toward the room. Soon Dream was wearing his leather armor with the slightly smudged word 'George' written on the chest plate, and holding a diamond sword. Karl was with him inn the room and so was Chandler for some unknown reason.

"Hello," Chandler said

"Hi..." Dream said awkwardly. He didn't really know this guy that well but he seemed decently nice. "Why aren't you with Chris and Technoblade?"

"Because Technoblade doesn't like anyone besides Chris," Chandler shrugged. "And George was my contender. Since he was your friend I decided to hang out with you," Dream felt a lump in his throat at the mention of his best friend and looked away. "Oh, and MrBeast decide to make this fight more interesting so you can also take a bow, a shield, or a fishing rod if you want. You can have three items, doesn't matter which ones," He shrugged.

"Oh," Dream said. He looked at his sword and set it aside, taking a diamond ax instead. He also grabbed a shield and then for some reason his eyes landed on a fishing rod. "Why are these even here?" He asked.

"Not sure," Karl said. "But you can use 'em to tangle up your enemy or to hook them toward you if they try to run away.

"Huh," Dream muttered, picking a fishing rod up and sliding it into the sheath on his back. Why not. He thought with a shrug.

"Hello folks!" Dream heard the announcer's voice above his head and stiffened, knowing the fight was near. "It's almost time for the fight you've all been waiting for!"

"Good luck," Karl said, smiling at Dream. Dream looked at him and nodded stiffly, turning to face the massive iron doors in front of him after a bit.

"Dream verses Technoblade!" The crowd went wild, their voices echoing around the arena and hurting Dream's ears. Who in their right mind would even watch this stuff? He thought in disgust. "On our right we have Dream, one of our newest contestants! He belongs to Karl and today he'll be fighting against the reigning champ," The crowd cheered for a moment as the iron doors opened and Dream stiffly walked out. He gripped his ax in one hand and his shield in the other and made his way to the center of the arena, gazing around at all the people.

"This is where I die," Dream muttered, feeling the hot sun beating down on him and the dusty earth coming up in small clouds around him.

"And on our left, we have the undefeated, the reigning champion, the blood god, Technoblade!" The iron garage-like doors opened up and Dream squinted, just able to make out Technoblade as he marched toward Dream. He had two diamond blades gripped in each hand and no other weapons. He only chose two things? Dream thought. Man, he's really sure he'll win this fight... Dream swallowed hard as Technoblade neared him and resisted the urge to run away once they were standing only three feet apart.

"Dream," Techno growled, nodding to Dream.

"Technoblade," Dream said, trying not to sound too scared.

"I have more friends than just Phil," Techno said after a moment. He's still thinking about that? Dream thought, recalling his comment about Techno not having friends. "Like Chris, Chandler, Karl, and MrBeast," He said.

"I don't think Karl and Chandler like you very much," Dream commented. Technoblade said nothing. "I'd say your only real friend is Chris,"

"You shouldn't be aggravating me before this fight," Techno warned.

"If we weren't forced to fight to the death..." Dream paused. "I might have been your friend," Technoblade still said nothing but he shifted slightly. Techno shook his head quickly after a moment and stared at Dream from behind his pig mask.

"Let's just get this over with," He muttered.

"Let the fight of the century begin!"
