Dream, Technoblade, George, Phil, Tommy, Tubbo, and Indigo headed out through the woods, Dream and Techno in the lead and a large group of both soldiers and former prisoners trailing behind them. Dream had only known one place to go, but most of the guards and prisoners had known other places, former homes and such, and left. Now they only had ten soldiers with them and fourteen prisoners including Indigo.
"So where are we going exactly," Techno asked Dream.
"My home," Dream said. "You don't have to stay, I just really want to get back and see them and it's the only place I can think of right now," He added, glancing at Techno.
"I don't have anywhere else to go," Techno shrugged. "Anywhere Phil is, I'll be," He patted his friend on the back and Phil smiled.
"Same for me," The man said. George came up beside Dream and sighed.
"I'm so glad we can finally go back to normal now," He said with a smile. "I can't wait to see Sapnap, Bad, Antfrost, and Skeppy," He added.
"Same here," Dream said. "They're probably going to be mad at me for vanishing again," George stared at Dream for a moment until Dream finally felt uncomfortable and acknowledged it. "What are you doing?"
"You just always used to wear a mask," George said. "This is the first time you're without it, at least that I've seen," Dream nodded slightly. Technoblade still had his mask on, he had decided to keep it, but Dream thought it was time he stopped hiding.
"We should be close now," Dream said. "Just a little more walking and-" Dream stopped as he heard a sound in the bushes and turned just in time to see a black and white blur flying toward him. Dream yelped with surprise and braced himself for impact but before the attacker could even touch him something stepped between them. Dream watched as Technoblade spun around and slammed the newcomer into a tree, glaring at him.
"Ah!" Sapnap yelled, struggling against Techno's grasp. "It's a pigman! Run!"
"I'm not a pigman, idiot," Techno growled. "Don't touch my friends," Sapnap stopped and turned to look at Dream.
"Sapnap?" Dream said.
"Who are you?" Sapnap growled. "And why do you have Dream's sweatshirt,"
"I am Dream," Dream said. "Techno, let him go, he's my friend," Techno glared at Sapnap for a moment before releasing him and stepping back.
"Prove it," Sapnap growled. "Dream would never show his face,"
"I can prove it," Dream said, thinking for a moment. "Oh, alright... here's something no one but me knows," Dream said with a grin. Sapnap eyed him suspiciously before glancing at Technoblade who was still watching Sapnap carefully. "Remember that time when Bad made two batches of muffins and you stole an entire tray of them and sat in a tree eating them, and then I was walking around and you tried to stay still but ended up falling on me-"
"Dream!" Sapnap gasped. "It is you!" He stared at Dream for a moment before looking at Technoblade. He seemed to just then realize how big the other man was, and how unamused he seemed. "Who the hell is this," He said warily.
"Technoblade," Techno said. "Nice to meet you too," Sapnap nodded slightly and eyed Techno for a while. Before anyone could say anything, there was a battle cry and something blue and black leaped out of the bushes with two netherite blades and landed on Sapnap, pinning him to the ground. Soon a man in black and red clothes and another in a cream-colored shirt and brown jean shorts followed him and tackled Sapnap.
"We got him!" Dream recognized Skeppy, Bad, and Antfrost and chuckled to himself. "Wait- Sapnap?"
"Get off me!" Sapnap grunted, shoving the three guys off him and leaping to his feet.
"Where are the enemies!" Skeppy said, looking around. He spotted Technoblade, Tommy, Indigo, Phil, George, and Dream and froze. "Holy sh-"
"There's like twenty people here and you somehow manage to tackle your friend?" Technoblade scoffed. "Wow..."
"Guys!" George said. "I found Dream!"
"You didn't really find-" Dream started. Before he could finish Bad spotted him and gasped.
"Dream, you're alive!" He said. "Why'd you run away again? Did I say something?"
"No, it wasn't you guys," Dream said quickly. "I got kidnapped again,"
"How do you get kidnapped twice, Dream?" Antfrost chuckled. "I mean... really? Aren't you a dragon slayer or something?"
"Yeah- well..." Dream stammered. "I didn't have a weapon..." He trailed off.
"How about we get these guys somewhere safe," George said after a moment. "You have no idea what we've been through, don't make fun of Dream,"
"Oh yeah, what happened?" Sapnap said. "Did someone hurt your feelings?" He sneered.
"I died, Sapnap," George said bluntly. "I died," Sapnap stopped, looking a bit startled.
"What do you mean, George?" Bad said. "You're standing right here," He paused, his hazel eyes widening. "Or... are you a ghost?" He gasped.
"No, I'm not a ghost," George said. "Pigman here decided to kill me,"
"Excuse me?" Techno said. "I wouldn't say decided to kill you-" He started.
"Kill him!" Skeppy yelled, drawing his blades again and swinging at Technoblade. Sapnap grabbed his own blade and so did Antfrost and they lunged. Techno dodged backward, avoiding the first flurry of blows, and waited a moment for Skeppy to stand up before he leaned back slightly and spartan kicked him in the chest. Skeppy gasped as the force sent him barreling back into his friends and causing them all to tumble to the ground.
"It's complicated," Techno growled. "But the problem has been solved," He paused before saying. "I could beat you all easily,"
"Oh yeah?" Sapnap said. "Why don't you-"
"Cut it out," Dream said. "He's not the bad guy here,"
"Yeah," George agreed. "Well... maybe... I'm actually not sure." Technoblade shook his head slowly and headed in the direction Skeppy, Bad, Antfrost, and Sapnap had come from, leaving everyone else in the small clearing.
"Oh look, you've angered him now," Dream sighed. "Listen, he's been through a lot so just... be nice please," Dream led the others after Technoblade, and soon he was back home. He spotted Technoblade standing beside a house as if he'd been waiting for them. Dream knew he was upset now, but he also knew it wouldn't last. He looked at his friends, new and old, and smiled to himself. I'm finally home. He thought. And no one can take it from me this time.
I just thought of an idea for a sequel to this book but there will only be one more because another book wouldn't make sense thanks to the theme of this series. You'll see ;)
