Sophie's POV:
I wake up early, with my earbuds still in my ears and my phone on the nightstand. I click the power button to find out that there's only 10% left. Quickly getting out of bed, I charge my phone and keep my earbuds back inside one of the nightstand drawers.
Zach shifts around as he rubs his eyes open with his fingers.
"Hey, you getting up for work?"
"Yeah," I say, walking around the room in my bedroom slippers and picking out my outfit for today.
"Okay. And Soph?"
"Yes?" I turn to him as I enter the bathroom.
"I was a jerk last night. I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I understand how it is. I'm sorry too," I walk over to him and give him a kiss on the lips.
"Is it going to be your normal clock-out time today?"
"If by 'my normal' you mean 6:00, then yes," I respond, knowing that he knows about how most days I end up working a little overtime. "But you know I work fast, so I might even clock out by 5:30. I'll text you," I smile.
"Okay," he smiles as I close the bathroom door and begin to get ready for the day.

Work was so great for me today. My boss really liked my reports (for a change), and he even let me off an hour earlier than my normal clock-out time. As a last-minute thought, I decide not to text Zach, since it will be fun to surprise him, and we can happily spend the rest of the day together.
I come home and open the door; my happiness quickly changes to suspicion as I hear noises coming from the bedroom. Leaving the front door open, I quietly take my shoes off and walk towards the bedroom door. Swinging the door open, my face suddenly changes to shock. I see a blonde girl wrapped in the bedsheets and another figure hiding underneath the covers. The girl's eyes widen in surprise as she notices my entrance.
"She's here," the girl calls out nervously as she taps the other person's shoulder.
A few seconds later, I see Zach emerge from the covers. His face takes on an expression of worry, and his eyes widen as he rolls off the girl. Tears begin to form in my eyes as I cover my mouth, struck by horror over what I am witnessing.
"Sophie, please, just wait one minute."
I immediately walk out, slamming the bedroom door, dropping my purse to the ground, and slowly sitting on the couch, trying to comprehend what the fuck just happened. Many emotions brew within me, mostly anger, hurt, and betrayal. Tears rapidly start streaming down my cheeks as I quietly break down inside.
A few moments later, Zach and the other girl come out of the bedroom, fully clothed. I look at the girl, who seems to have no remorse about this situation at all.
"Can we please just talk about this, baby-"
"First off, don't you 'baby' me. You better start explaining what the hell I just saw in there. And who is this?" I ask, pointing at the girl.
She simply speaks to Zach, "I'll leave you to it," before quickly exiting the apartment.
Zach sighs as he places his phone on the kitchen counter and sits on a chair. I move and sit next to him; my eyes feel gritty, probably bloodshot from the continuous crying.
"Sophie, it wasn't what it looked like in there! Really, it was nothing!"
"She had her legs wrapped around your neck, and you're telling me it meant nothing?!" I yell angrily.
