Personally, I liked writing the first part to this, so I'm making a second part with some romance. Hope you like it (and sorry the other one was so short this will be longer). I could barely sit still through the lesson. I was sure Anne, who sat at the same desk with me, could hear my heart beating out of my chest. Gil was back. My Gilbert was home at last. I could finally walk home with him again, I could sneak out at midnight to gaze at the stars with him, but most importantly, I could see him.

While he was gone, I could barely remember his black, fluffy hair or the way his cheeks puff out when he smiles. Now, though, I could look at him and hear his voice.

My thoughts drifted back when Mr. Philips called on me. Perks of sitting in the front.

"Ms. Y/l/n, what is the square root of 7?"

"Umm.... about 2.7, I believe." I responded, since it is a strange decimal.

"Correct. Next time spend less time looking out the window and more time looking at the board." I nodded in response and he turned back to the lesson. The rest of the morning classes I did my best to focus, but my mind still wondered. Finally, The lunch bell rang. I shot up from my desk and Gilbert did the same.

"Do you want to eat outside? It might be quieter." He asked I nodded and grabbed my lunch. I quickly told Anne and Diana where I would be and they went to sit with the other girls.

Gil and I pulled on our coats and walked behind the school house.

"Tell me everything." I said before he had the chance to speak. He smiled at my eagerness and began.
"Well, working on the steam boat was hard, but it was worth it. I met a man named Bash and he showed me around Trinidad. It's beautiful there. There are so many smells and foods. I even tried alcohol."

"I bet you puked." I interjected. He chuckled and nodded.

"Yep I did. I helped give birth to a baby, too." he said casually. My jaw dropped.

"Like with an actual woman? Not like a duck or something?" I replied.

"Yes a woman. Why would I help a duck give birth?" I shrugged and he continued on. He told me all about the journey, the foods he tried, and everything he saw.

"Your letters made me feel less alone, though. I missed you so much." He said. My heart fluttered. He missed me. Why did I feel like this? It didn't feel natural. I pushed that feeling aside.

"What did you do while I was gone?" he asked.
"Well, I made friends with Diana, Anne, and Cole. Charlie started flirting with me which is a problem for future me. A bunch of people lost money for gold testing that didn't happen, but mum didn't want our soil tested, which I am so thankful for. Other than that, I waited for you to get back. I know, it's nothing compared to what you did."
"No, N/n. You did great. I'm sorry that I left you. I just wanted to see the world before deciding what to do with my life, but being gone made me realize that I'm nothing without you. I love, Y/n. I understand if you don't feel the same way, but I need you in my life, one way or another." It was then that I understood. This fluttery feeling was love. Missing him so much was love. I was in love with Gilbert Blythe.

"I love you too, Gilbert." I said. He bent down, our lips only inches apart. He filled the space, our lips connecting. It felt like an explosion erupted inside me. One of his arms snaked around my waist and his other hand cupped my cheek. Subconsciously, one of my hands was on his neck and the other was running through his hair. It felt like there was nothing else in the world except us two. We broke away for a breath. His cheeks were dusted a light pink, and I assumed mine were the same. Before either of us could say something, the end of lunch bell rang. We both walked inside.

I didn't know what we were, but I knew that we weren't just friends anymore.

Hi. Hope you liked this continuation. Next chapter will only be one part. Thanks for reading!
