Secondly, I'm getting better at updating, so here.

Y/n POV

"God, will you just hush Y/n. We don't need this constant...jibber jabber. Sit and eat in silence." It shook me to my core to hear these words repeated. I barely even realized I was doing it, but here I was, again, letting my excitement get the better of me. I know my mother means well, but it still hurts to be told that your words don't matter.

So I slowly walked to school. The only thing heard in on the path was Anne's chittering voice and the crunching of leaves and twigs under our feet. I loved the way she felt freed through her voice. I nodded and added small comments when appropriate, but overall I was silent.

"Are you feeling alright this morning?" Anne asked as we approached the schoolhouse.

"Just fine." I gave her a reassuring smile and she moved to talk to Diana. After all of Anne's talking, I was feeling much better. I entered the schoolhouse, sitting where I always did, and rambled slightly to Ruby until Billy came up to us.

"Y/n, why do you always have to be so loud? Nobody really even cares what you're saying anyway, so why do you even bother talking at all? I can only think of one reason why you'd even want to open your mouth." His friends around him chuckled, but I only stood and left the schoolhouse. I sat behind it, silently praying that God would take away my voice so I could never bother anyone again.

"Billy's just a jerk." Gilbert's voice jumped me. I only nodded, hopping my silence would drive him away. Sadly, it did the opposite.

"I know that it may feel like you're just annoying people, but I don't think I'll ever get bored of your rambling. Please, whenever you feel like you can't talk to anyone, talk to me." I smiled.

"Thank you, Gilbert." He nodded, taking my hand and sitting down next to me. We talked all through the morning period.

this one's pretty crappy, but anyway! Thanks for reading
