Hi guys! Sorry for not updating recently. Happy Asexual Day (yes, it was Tuesday, but I don't care). I'm taking this chance to come out to you guys. I'm asexual! I was so nervous to come out to my best friend, but I explained it to her and she's happy for me! I even told my parents and brother. Anyway, enough of my rant. Hope you enjoy this chapter!

Y/n Pov

"Good morning, Peter." I said as I walked down the stairs.

"Morning, sis." Peter was my twin brother. We usually get along, but sometimes it's hard. "Where are you going looking like that?" He asked. I glanced down.

"You know, women wear trousers all around Europe. If anything, I'm fashion forward."

"Okay, but when you get judged don't cry about it." he replied sassily.

"Trust me, I won't." We walked into the kitchen.

"How are you two already bickering?" my mother groaned.

"We were just talking." I replied innocently while taking an apple off the counter.

"Well, you'd better be off now. It's no good to be late on the first day. Your father is already out, and here are your lunches. Love you." My mother stated.

"Love you too." Peter and I said in sync. We grabbed our books and lunches and headed out.

~Time Skip To Getting to School~

Finally, the schoolhouse came into view. There were some others outside, around our age. Some people stared at us, and others whispered. I didn't mind much, but Peter had a wavering face. We walked inside and put our jackets on a hook. Then, I went back outside and set my milk in the brooke nearby. Peter had wandered somewhere, maybe to introduce himself to the boys, or to sit inside alone. I sat on a stump and began to read.

"Hey, you! What's your name?" I heard someone yell as he walked up to me.

"Y/n Y/l/n." I stated as I went back to my book.

"Girls don't wear trousers." he shot back.

"Frankly, I don't care. They're all the rage in France, and they are quite comfortable." I replied, not glancing at the boy. By then, more people had come over. It made me a bit nervous, but I didn't show it. The boy snatched the book from my hands and began to chuckle. I quickly stood up.

"Give. It. Back." I said. I didn't yell, but you could hear the anger peaking through.

"Charlie, catch!" He yelled throwing it. I turned to the boy who had caught it and my scowl deepend.
Keep calm. There's no need to beat them up. Not yet, anyway. I thought.

"Go long, Moody!" Charlie yelled.

Moody tripped before he could catch it, but the first boy caught it. I turned back to him.

"I'm Billy. Billy Andrews." said the first boy.

"I don't give a damn what your name is. Give me back my book." I said. I knew my cheeks were flushing, and my fists were already clenched.

"Ooh. You shouldn't say things like that. It's improper. Hey Gilbert, catch!" Billy yelled to a boy walking to the brooke with his milk. Gilbert caught the book, surprisingly.

"Whose book is this?" he asked.

"Mine!" I shouted before Billy. Gilbert handed the book to me.

"Here you go, and if you guys hassle her again, you'll regret it." he said. I smiled slightly and the people crowded around left.

"Hey, thanks." I said to Gilbert before he could walk away.

"Yeah, no problem. My name is Gilbert, but I guess you already figured that out."
"Yeah. I'm Y/n. It was nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too." He replied. He walked inside. I was about to follow, but two girls walked up to me.

"What are you doing talking to Gilbert Blythe?" demanded the taller one. The shorter one was crying, but I had no idea why.

"Thanking him. He got my book back from that mean boy. Billy, I think his name was." I replied.

"You can't talk to Gilbert. You can't even look at him. Ruby has liked him for three years, and she has dibs."

"You can't call dibs on a boy. Plus, I just met him. How would I even know if I like him?" I responded. This left the taller girl in shock. Ruby looked hurt, but honestly I didn't care.  I bet the boys don't call dibs on girls. Well, some boys. I turned to walk into the school house, but they just stood there shocked.

When I walked in, almost everyone was sitting. There were two seats left open for Ruby and the other girl, and Peter was talking to a lanky blonde boy (whom I hadn't seen outside). A read headed girl walked up to me.

"My name is Anne, and please be sure to spell it with an e. It makes it so much more romanticle. If you would like to, there is an open seat next to me. My friend Diana is sitting with Tilly today." Anne gave me a reassuring smile. I nodded and walked with her.

"My name is Y/n. It's a pleasure to meet you." I said before the morning bell rang and the teacher entered.

"Settle down, settle down everyone." He said. He began to write on the blackboard and then turned to the class.

"It seems we have two new boys in class. Are you sure you're sitting in the right place?" He asked me. Most students snickered, but I noticed that Anne, Gilbert, Peter, and the blonde boy didn't.

"Quite sure, being that I'm not a boy. Thank you for the concern, though." I gave a wicked grin as he sneered.

"I'll mind you to watch your tone miss.... what is your name?"

"Y/n Y/l/n."

"Miss Y/l/n. Since it is your first day I'll let it slide, but don't let it happen again." He turned to the class and began instruction on arithmetic; my worst subject.

~Time Skip (also, sorry for so much dialog)~

Finally, lunch had arrived. Anne and Diana had invited me to sit with them.

"Usually Cole sits with us, too, but it seems he's talking to your brother today." Diana noticed. I nodded and smiled. It was nice to have friends for a change. We kept talking about things like nature and stories until someone approached us.

"Hey, Y/n. Do you want to try an apple? They're from our orchard and they're real sweet." Gilbert asked.

"Yes please. Thank you." He handed me a honeycrisp by the looks of it. Then, he walked away satisfied.

"Oh my. He has a crush on you." Diana snickered.

"Oh, that's poppycock. How could he like me; he barely knows me." I pointed out.

"He definitely likes you. Did you see that grin?" Anne chimed in.

"Well..... Maybe." I replied.

"Do you think he's handsome?" Diana asked. I slowly nodded.

"What's your favorite feature about him?" Anne asked.

"He has a splendid.... chin." I decided. They both began to laugh and soon I joined in.

"You should ask him out."
"Alright, maybe I will." I replied with a sudden urge of confidence.

Alright, hope you liked this. It's pretty short, and I didn't really know how to end it.
