Athena Swan had convinced herself that she didn't need to go to prom, and instead she had decided on having a relaxing evening while Bella would be getting ready, she'd later head over to hang out with Riley.
Sure, she had been asked out to the prom numerous times, but that didn't stop her from deciding that she didn't want to go and that she wasn't interested in dating anyone.
She had found her Grandmother's journal amusing.
Dear Diary,
Today I had seen the most peculiar thing, the field outside my boyfriends house had been dead, it was so sad to see it without its usual life. I had only turned my back for a minute as I had felt angry for those who had made it that way, but when I had spun back around, the flowers were all there again and I have no idea how.
I can not tell my parents, they would not approve in whatever I believe this to be. They would lock me away like some deprived maniac.
I do not know who to turn to, this flower thing is not the first thing that has happened. At first I was drawing numbers, only they are not just numbers, they are times, dates, occasions that things will happen.
Then, I had gotten angry and I made a glass shatter in room. Not forgetting how I wanted heat and all the candles in the room were suddenly lit.
I think I am a witch or some kind.
Carol.
She had been reading her grandma's diary like it was a gossip magazine, which it almost was with all the drama in it. She went on about how she met a wolf and then she was in a battle between her boyfriend and this wolf-man that she had somehow made a 'bond' with, she called it a beloved.
Whatever that is.
By the time Athena had read a few pages, she finally decided to put it down and make her way over to her Uncle's house.
"How did you get in here?" Charlie asked as he entered his kitchen to see Athena making herself a cup of coffee, that girl had an addiction, he swears."I made a key when you were asleep one time" the girl shrugged, he shrugged it off too as it wasn't untypical of the girl to do something like that. "So, how awkward did Bella look when she left? And how much did you threaten Edward?"
Just as Charlie was about to talk, footsteps came running down the stairs and the pair turned to see Riley stood their with an ecstatic smile on her face.
"Athena! I've picked out all our favourite films to watch, and I even got those coffee face masks that you like so much" Riley let out excitedly, and Athena added one more sugar to her coffee in response, before she stirred it around quickly. "Come on! I have some popcorn and marshmallows!"
"Alright, you got me" Athena grinned in response, picking up her coffee as she started to walk towards her buzzing cousin. "See you later Uncle Charlie, I'll be back for my answers!" She shouted as they began to disappear up the stairs.
"I don't doubt that!" He responded, making Riley giggle to herself at her Dad's and cousins relationship, the pair were really amusing to be around as they were like best friends.
"Okay so, I was thinking of starting with some classic Disney movies before we move on to some action" Riley offered as she crashed down onto her bed, and Athena noticed the new TV in her cousins room. "Jake brought it over for me to use for the night"
"I should really be friends with this Jake guy"
