"Bella!" Charlie suddenly shouted as he spotted his eldest daughter in Sam Uley's arms, emerging from the woods. "Riley! Oh thank God!"
Charlie ran forward to grab her, along with Jacob and Athena who checked over the girl before they turned to the younger one who was shivering almost as much as her sister.
"You idiot!" Athena hissed lightly, before she dragged her cousin into her arms and hugged her closely. "I almost had a heart attack"
"I'm okay, a little cold...but it was worth it because I found Bella" Riley's chattering teeth let out a bright smile, and Athena's features softened before she shook her head.
"Here, take my jacket and we'll go inside to warm you up" Jacob offered, taking of his jacket that surrounded the petite girls entire figure, and he bit his lip to hold in a smile.
"One second" Riley held a finger up at Jacob and Athena, before turning around to where Sam and Paul were stood talking to Billy, more Sam than Paul. "Sam"
The male's head snapped over to the small girl in recognition, Billy nodding his head as Sam gave him a small glance to silently ask if it was the 'Riley' who Billy had told him about.
When Riley reached them, she let out a huge smile that almost had Sam in a puddle. "I just wanted to say thank you, for finding Bella and I in the woods"
"No problem"
After Athena had made both Bella and Riley take a bath, she had made them sleep in Bella's bed together, knowing that Bella needed comfort in that moment.
And after she had waved goodnight to Charlie, she made her way home where she suddenly felt the urge to scream out loud.
When she noticed a flicker of light her attention snapped over to the fireplace, and her eyes widened as a fire started up-just like it had said in her grandma's journal, she reached forward to touch the flames that had ignited before they had suddenly disappeared.
"What just happened?" She whispered out loud, her small voice ringing through the empty house as she sat on the floor next to the fireplace, before her eyes trailed to her stairs, she now needs to find the box that she had hidden under a floor board in her closet.
Her grandma seemed to be the only one she could turn to right now and she couldn't imagine how the woman herself felt.
Dear dairy,
I can not deny it any longer, the wolf may claim I am his imprint and it is indeed true, we are connected by forces beyond our own and I can not keep the pull strained any longer.
It breaks my heart that I will have to leave my boyfriend, but how cruel would I be if I lived a life full of lies? I would never be truly happy and that would also end up tearing into him.
I am going to meet him at the treaty line tonight so I can agree to his terms and we can start up our relationship together. He wants to go at whatever pace I want, and that makes me happy, I know now that I just do this, not only for me but for him.
Carol.
Athena slammed the journal shut after that, Wolves? Imprint? Treaty lines? This wasn't making any sense at all, if anything, she's only learned that her grandma had a busy love life.
None of this was going to help with her...whatever this was.
Maybe she could research something into her grandpa, she knows that he died to an animal attack before she was born and so she never had the chance to meet him. But, surly someone knew something?
