Athena stared blankly at the ceiling above her, she couldn't seem to sleep that night.

The fact that she was supposed to sleep in a room which she immediately recognised as Emmett's, didn't sit well with the bond as he wasn't here too. The scent that he had somehow managed to leave throughout the entire room had her body have a fire set to it, their was tingles in her stomach and she suddenly felt like a child when they first had feelings for someone.

Her hand fell to her head as though she was expecting there to be a temperature so she could blame it all on being sick. But the only thing she found was her normal temperature and her surprisingly cold hand.

She almost convinced herself that she should use a spell or a brew to help herself sleep, but she knew that the only way was to actually talk to Emmett. She just had to find where he was and let go of this unfamiliar settling in her stomach.

Athena kicked the covers away from her large T-shirt covered body, it was one of Charlie's old T-shirts that's he had stolen when she stayed at the Swab residence one time and ever since it was hers. You couldn't exactly see the shorts that she was wearing but they were definitely there.

Her body seemed to have a mind of its own as it dragged her towards the outside world, her sock-covered feet hitting the satisfying crunches of the leaves of the forrest, the moon was shining brightly and it made her glance up to stare at its wonderful sight.

A moon helped power a lot for witches brewing and enchantments, so to be stood under its lively lighting made her feel peaceful.

"Why aren't you asleep?" A worried voice came from her side, snapping her back to reality as she looked over to see Emmett jumping down from a tree, she had to remind herself that vampires don't sleep.

"Do you miss it?" Athena asked, only being returned with a confused look. "Being able to sleep" she clarified.

"Sometimes" Emmett admits, standing next to her and looking at the moon where she had previously been looking. "Dreams were limitless, peaceful and I guess we just don't get that closure anymore"

Athena frowns as she looks up at his tall figure, "I'm sorry you can't sleep, I couldn't imagine living without my dreams, it's a break from reality"

Emmett looks down to see her looking at him, he had to stop himself from grabbing her and kissing her right there. "I guess so..." he agrees, taking a moment of where they just stood there and stared at each other. "Why aren't you asleep?" He asks again, hoping to get an answer this time.

"The bond" She answers shyly, dropping her head down in disappointment with herself, since when was she like this?

"The bond?" Emmett repeated the phrase, searching in his brain for what she was going on about, before he heard her let out a sigh, so his head instantly turned to face her again.

"The bond is something that comes with being a witch" she started to explain, reaching over and lacing her fingers with his, making a tingling sensation pass through the both of them, that made Emmett stare down in shock when he felt it too. "It's called a Beloved, kind of like an imprint or a mate..."

"So...you're my mate and I'm your Beloved?" Emmett asked, confusion lacing his tone as he tried to piece it together, he finally looked back to her face as he pulled his attention away from their joined hands.

"Yeah" She nods, biting her lip nervously as she didn't exactly know how this was going to go.

"So you feel this too?" He questions, as he squeezes her hands, making another wave of the tingling sensation pass through them again, with a gasp and a nod from her, a smile passed onto his face. "Great" and he dipped his head down to her face and entwined their lips together quickly, Athena gasping in shock again before she let go of his hands and dragged them up to his neck, tilting her body up to his tall height.

Emmett's hands wrapped themselves around her waist and he slowly picked her up from her feet so neither were straining their necks, she soon leaned into the kiss properly and kissed him back with the same amount of emotion as he had placed into it.

And just like that, the bond wasn't hurting them anymore.
