"Athena, slow down" Emmett called after the girl who was storming off, there was literal burn marks wherever she took a step, he was surprised that she hadn't burnt a hole in the floor. "Athena!"
"You're a vampire, remember?" She bitterly snapped back, her hands were shaking and she just wanted it to end in that moment. She felt as though her body wanted to explode from the power her anger seemed to be channelling. "Oh God, I can't stop shaking"
"Hey, hey" Emmett appeared in front of her, placing his hands on her face as he stopped her from walking, she fought against his hands for a few minutes. "Hey, Athena, just focus on me" he tried to sooth her fighting self.
When she finally looked up her eyes got caught on his golden ones and her throat suddenly got tight. Her brunette eyes blinked slightly in shock as she felt her fire cool down and her body feel tingling suddenly from the touch he had on her face, she randomly wanted to be jump into his arms and kiss him to death which ultimately confused her.
"What the hell?" She breathed out, making him snap out of his own gaze in confusion. "Let go of me" She was back to anger again, slapping his hands away quickly so she didn't have to feel his unnaturally cold hands. "Don't touch me"
"What was that?" He questioned, his face baffled as he stared down at the girl in front of him, he already knew that she was his mate, but could the eye contact thing could be something to do with what Edward had told him about.
"Nothing, it's nothing, I'm just...mad" Athena admits slowly, moving her eyes around so they didn't meet his again. "I just need to blow off some steam so I don't go back there and kill your brother, Edward, who has managed to drag my cousin into another dangerous situation" Athena let out a sarcastic smile as she tilted her head to the side and pushed past him to start walking again.
"Keep going and you'll cross the treaty line" He states, more of a reminder to himself that he can't follow her, and the thought of her being alone with Wolves really didn't settle with him. "I can't follow you there and you might end up setting one of their houses on fire from your weird power thing"
Athena stopped her walking and turned her body around abruptly to face him, "what do you suggest I do then?!"
He seemed to pause for a moment to think of a reply, "you could....take out the anger on me?" He offered, Athena's brow arched as she sent him a look. "Not like that! I mean, fight me...you know with your witchy voodoo stuff"
"Voodoo stuff?" She repeated, blinking at him silently as she tried to analyse what he wanted or why he was being so nice. "Okay bear-boy, I'll give it a shot but go easy on me because I'm new to this" she held her hands in front of her nervously, before she snapped them away again. "Actually, I don't want to hurt you, can we try something else?"
"I know" He smiles as an idea hits him, and he flashed away quickly and returned with a giant boulder in his hands, dropping it with a giant thud. "Try and cut it in half or whatnot" he gestured with his hands at the boulder, acting awkwardly, but she ignored it anyway.
"Just don't judge because I'm new" Athena warned, holding her hands up slowly in front of the boulder. "tuum veniet ventus lapidem et scalpere abyssi" she chants lowly, slapping her hands together and thrusting her arms in a downwards motion, making wind go wild and slam down into the giant rock, splitting it slowly as it crumbled into pieces.
Emmett laughed loudly behind her as she grinned, proud of herself for what she had done. "That was awesome! Woo!" He yelled out, running forward and picking her up with adrenaline pumping through, well...just Athena. Emmett spun her around as she let out a laugh, before the moment ended when he placed her back down, the pair stared at each other's eyes for a few simple and peaceful moments before Athena pulled away.
"We better head back" She mumbled, looking down to the ground as her energy suddenly felt drained.
