On the morning of the fight against the newborn vampires, Emmett and Athena proceeded to get ready in silence, even helping each other change into their correct outfits that seemed to colour coordinate without them even trying to. Emmett had brushed her hair even and placed it into an easy low bun, so that her hair wouldn't be in the way during the fight.
After they had slid their shoes on, they had made their way down the stairs, clinging on to each other's hands in a silent comfort.
Esme was waiting in the kitchen with some food for Athena to have before they left for battle, giving the girl and encouraging and motherly smile as she held out the plate of food and a cup of coffee, just the way that Athena loved it.
Athena gave the woman a small smile as a thanks before she wordlessly began to eat, taking her seat next to counter as Emmett sat beside her, the pair just enjoying each other's company in the peace before it was ruined through the bad vampires.
When Athena had gotten some food on the corner of her mouth, Emmett had lifted his hand up and brushed it off easily for her, making her smile to him as a thanks before she continued on wordlessly.
The nerves were finally settling in on her and she wished that she had the chance to see her cousins before it, but she couldn't mess up any of their plans now, she had to remain focused on their main priority.

Athena stood ready, her hands glowing slightly as a familiar tingle spread through her body, she was just itching to let all the power out of her and kill some vampires for trying to harm her family.
There was a small counting that was going off in Athena's head, before all the Cullen's went rushing forward towards the vampires who appeared at the opening, making Athena's hands to snap quickly and twist around. "Mali ratione capi" she snapped her hands together, and the vines seeped through the earths ground and began to latch on to any of the newborns that stepped near them, making Athena smirk quickly as her trap had worked.
The Wolves began to ascend onto the newborns, ripping any apart they they could reach with their mouth, Athena slammed her hands out hastily and lit a fire to start throwing the bodies into.
"Paul!" Athena gasped when she saw Paul dive towards the newborn that was on top of Emmett, her eyes grew angry as she lifted her hands and shoved the vampire away from the pair of boys, ripping it in half with an unnatural sound. "adolebitque" She simply said, and the corpse was set on fire as both the boys looked back at her quickly. "Like I'd let my beloved and Riley's imprintee get hurt" She smiles, embracing the both of them for the first time, but she quickly snapped herself fro t hat and moved onto the next vampire close by.
"Mind your left!" Rosalie cut in, running over and ripping the arm that had tried to touch Athena, Rosalie and Athena smiles at each other shortly. Rosalie held the vampire still as Athena lifted her hands to their face and whispered a few unknown words that had them fall to the floor instantly. "Nice" Rosalie complimented, letting go of the body fully, before she flashed away again.
"Should I be worried about that combination?" Emmett came to his mates side, quickly checking her over as she rolled her eyes playfully.
"Stop talking" Athena sent her beloved a pointed look, flashing her hands to her side once again. "capti tuum erit" the vampire was forced to the floor by an unknown force, and Emmett sent his mate a wink before he flashed forward and rolled the man's head off cleanly. As Athena's eyes flashed around, she noticed something. "Guys, Victoria and Male Riley aren't here" She spokes with worry, her eyes turning to face the mountain far away that her cousins were on.
Just as the battle field started to cool down, the Cullen's and wolves walked towards each other, thinking it was the end of it.
"Leah!" Athena heard someone yell out, before she spun around and caught Jake tackle the vampire away from Leah, she lifted her hands quickly just as the newborn got its hands on Jake and crunched his bones quickly. "comminuet ossa inimicus" Athena let out in a panic, making the vampires body twist and fall off from Jake.
