Athena had decided to go stay with her Uncle Charlie for a few days, knowing the plan that her cousin was under, she couldn't let him be alone when the news was delivered.
"So, when do you think Emmett will pop the question?" Charlie asks casually as they sat down together at the kitchen table with a take away, Athena let out a small snort as she bit into her slice of pizza.
"It's amusing you believe that is going to happen" Athena replies rather amused with the way the conversation is going, Charlie's eyebrows furrow as he places down his burger (which Riley would definitely disapprove of if she was here to point out the amount of grease and calories).
"Do you think it's not going to happen?" Charlie questions her, and Athena takes a moment to be caught of of guard.
"Well, people don't usually stick around me for too long" Athena says with a small smile, before she takes yet another bite.
"Is this about you parents?" Charlie acquires, before he clears his throat and shifts in his seat awkwardly, but Athena smiles at him as she knows he's trying his best. "You do know that even though they aren't around, I am. And I know that Emmett would be the most stupid guy in the world if he doesn't put a ring on your finger, you are extraordinary Athena, don't let anyone say different"
Athena looks up to him with watered eyes as she swallows her bite, before she dives forward to hug him, finding herself wrapped in his arms as they share a special moment that would never be taken away by anyone.
Athena returned home to the Cullen's after Emmett stopped replying to her messages, her instinct said to be mad at someone for something but she wasn't exactly sure about what yet.
Seeing as she didn't have a key, she ended up waving her hand over the doors lock so that it slammed open and announced her arrival, she swore she heard someone curse in the background.
Her eyes searched around hungrily for the source of her uneasiness before she managed to gather herself into the living room where she found Jake and Riley sat together with a pregnant looking Bella, her eyes widened in shock as she saw the corpse-looking figure that had her cousin trapped somewhere inside.
The sight soon changed to where Edward was brooding in the corner of the room and she tilted her head slightly at him. "You"
"We didn't know it was possible-" Carlisle goes to stick up for his son, but soon finds his son against the wall, being held by strange glowing vines that she had managed to conjure even without the spell.
Everyone quickly stood up from their places as the tension raised, Athena stepped towards Edwards floating body and took in his expression.
"What gives you the right to look miserable?" She questions him sharply, "she's the one who's doing it all"
"That's enough, let him go" Riley warns, and Athena snaps her head over to her cousin who was covering Bella with her own body, as if Athena was going to harm them. "Your eyes are glowing"
Athena let out a sigh of shock, dropping the boy onto the ground before she glanced around at the members in the room. "I am sorry for my behaviour, but how did you expect me to act? Nobody warned me what was happening" She shot back, glancing over at the guilty faces before her eyes met Bella's figure and her eyes glimmered slightly as she analysed what was in front of her.
"We know it was wrong of us, but do you think there is anything you can do?" Carlisle questions as he steps towards her, most of the caution being out of the window by now, though Emmett and Riley were still on stand-by just in case.
"It's so unusual" Athena states as she tilts her head at Bella, who shivers slightly under the gaze of her cousins glowing eyes. "It's like it's, alive but not"
