The Crystal Gems, Ezra, and Steven arrived at the Communication Hub. It was an ancient place that was once used by other Gems thousands of years ago to communicate through space. It was located somewhere in the middle of a desert.

"WOAH! What magical place of mystery is this?" Steven asked as he looked up in amazement.

"Well-." Amethyst said.

"Oh, I'm so glad you asked!" Pearl beamed, interrupting Amethyst. "This was once a communication hub for Gem-Kind." She walked to the pillars of the hub. "But lately, it's begun transmitting bursts of electromagnetic interference!"

"Now that's something Ari would translate." Ezra commented.

"Whazzat mean?" Steven asked.

"It's hurting television." Garnet replied.

"Noooooooo! I'll save you television! HA-YAH!" Steven cried out before he tried to kick and push over a pillar.

"Sorry, but we need a Steven at least..." Amethyst said as she lifted up Steven. "THIS strong for this job!"

She shapeshifted into a stronger-looking Steven.

"It's all the me I could be!" Steven gasped.

Amethyst put Steven down, and started punching at the pillar as the strong Steven. Pearl caught a small piece of the pillar punched off by Amethyst and Ezra easily dodged out of the way of another small piece.

"Amethyst, we could be here all day taking out these pillars individually." Pearl lectured.

"Ugh, I hate it when you're right. You get this look on your face..." Amethyst complained before she looked at Pearl's face. "Yeah, that's the one."

"What we need is a well thought out plan to-." Pearl instructed as her gem starts to project a hologram.

"No. What we need is Sugilite." Garnet interrupted. "Amethyst, fuse with me."

"WHAAAT?!" Amethyst and Pearl exclaimed.

"Fuse?!" Ezra repeated in confusion and in surprise.

Amethyst began to scream in excitement and Pearl looked annoyed.

"Yeah! Let's mash it up! Bigger, badder, better! Ohohohohoho!" Amethyst cheered as she twirled around.

"Hold your horses! Are... you guys going to become a Gem Fusion?" Steven asked.

Amethyst replied excitedly with a scream. Steven joined in the screaming in excitement too.

"This is gonna be cool." Ezra said in excitement.

"WAIT!" Pearl interrupted before she turned to Garnet. "Garnet, think about this. You and Amethyst can be a little... eheh... unstable when your personalities combine. We need to be careful! Fuse with me, instead."

"We don't need to be careful. We just need to be huge." Garnet explained as she placed her hand over Pearl's shoulder.

"Oh, yeah!" Amethyst cheered. "Let's wreck this joint!"

Garnet and Amethyst get prepared to fuse while Steven, Ezra, and Pearl watched.

"Synchronize." Garnet said before her gemstones began to glow as she started to dance.

Pearl covered Steven's eyes while Ezra looked away, feeling awkward if he was watching.

"Wha-? Whu-? Pearrrl... Come on! I wanna see!" Steven complained as he tried to pry her fingers away.

Garnet and Amethyst continued their fusion dance, before they fused together and formed Sugilite. Sugilite was a colossal and menacing fusion with a stocky, bulky build and four arms . She featured four, medium-lilac eyes located under a strong brow and a fifth one above it. Her mouth was twisted into a grin and filled with sharp, pointed teeth. She had a giant plume of spiky, dark purple-black hair kept in an untamed style similar to Amethyst's, but messier. Her gemstones were located on her chest, and on the palms of the hands of her upper arms. She had fuchsia skin, wore a ripped, dark purple, black and burgundy bodysuit similar to Garnet's, and a lilac visor covering her lower eyes. She had four arms which are connected at her sleeves. Her bodysuit had tears in it that are similar to Amethyst's.
