Ezra In Beach City (Book 1)

Ocean Gem

At the Beach House, Steven and the Gems were discussing what happened with Lapis.

"...I'm grounded?" Steven asked.

"Yes, you're grounded!" Pearl replied with her arms folded.

"You and Ezra disobeyed an order." Garnet added.

"And now we're gonna bury you 'til you've learned your lesson." Amethyst joked as she held up a shovel.

"Aah!" Steven panicked. "That's not how grounding works! Why isn't Ezra grounded?"

"Ezra is a grown up." Pearl replied. "Technically he is too old to be grounded."

"Speaking of Ezra, where is he?" Amethyst asked.

"He still hasn't come back home." Garnet replied. "I can tell that he's depressed after what happened."

"What could he be depressed about?" Steven asked.

The door of the house suddenly opened. The Crystal Gems turned to look and saw Greg.

"Dad?" Steven said in confusion.

"Uh, you guys better come check this out." Greg breathed heavily.

Outside the Beach House, the Crystal Gems and Greg walked outside.

"W-w-wha?" Mayor Dewey stuttered.

The citizens of Beach City were gathered behind Mayor Dewey and murmuring worriedly.

"Wait. What the..." The citizens muttered. "Where did it go? Whoa!"

Ronaldo took a picture with his phone of what he was seeing, that revealed that the entire ocean is gone and left various boats and ships stranding on the now-deserted ocean floor.

"The ocean!" Steven exclaimed.

"Hey, it's those magical ladies!" Mayor Dewey yelled as he was talking on a megaphone. He looked at Garnet. "What's going on here?!"

"The ocean is gone, obviously." Garnet replied.

"That's right." Mayor Dewey said. "Now it's just a desert. No one wants to take a vacation to... Desert City! Aww, we're gonna lose all our summer business!"

"And all the beach babes!" Lars complained. "Awwww!"

"Who's gonna buy my fries?" Mr. Fryman asked.

"And my pizza!" Mr. Pizza added.

"Who's gonna have fun at Funland?" Mr. Smiley asked.

"As mayor, I DEMAND you explain this immediate-!" Mayor Dewey yelled in the megaphone, but Garnet slapped the megaphone out of the Mayor's hand.

"It was Lapis Lazuli." Garnet said.

"Lapis Lazuli?" Steven repeated.

"She's the Gem you released from the mirror." Pearl explained before she projected a hologram of Lapis with her gem.

"That's incredible." The citizens said. "How did you do that?"

"But she's a Gem, just like us." Steven said.

"There's a lot you don't know about Gems, Steven." Pearl replied.

At the lighthouse, Ezra stood on the viewpoint and looked at the vanished part of the ocean with a small sigh. Below at the bottom, Steven arrived and was panting.

"Ezra!" Steven called out. "Come on, buddy, can't we talk?"

Ezra immediately teleported out from the lighthouse and next to the lighthouse on ground floor.
