"Hey sweetie, we're going on an adventure again! We'll be back in a few hours!" A woman said. She was with her husband, and they were talking to their daughter.

"Okay." The daughter said. This wasn't eh first time they'd be gone all day and it wouldn't be the last either. Because of this, the daughter would spend her days in the library, reading fictional novels to pass the time. These were ever the only things to bring her joy and give her peace. One day, she found a book she was especially fond of, and enjoyed it much. That night, their parents came back from a long adventure.

"So honey, what books did you read today?" The father asked. The daughter looked excited to tell him. She proceeded to explain the plot of her now favorite story.

"Then, after that, he said 'Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort, you are the Prinzessin der Verurteilung, my proud daughter. You shall never surrender your nobility and dreams.'" She explained. The father chuckled.

"Why don't I call you Fischl too?" He smiled. He placed his hand on her head, then repeated the words the story had.

"Fischl, you are my wonderful princess and my proud daughter. You shall never surrender your nobility and dreams." He said. These words, though he didn't know it, made the daughter's world light up in every way imaginable. She was way too delighted by his words, and felt touched by them. These words would stick to her during hard times, so when her parents were often gone and she was separated from other peers due to her obsession with fantasy novels, she'd always remind herself.

"I am Fischl, my daddy's wonderful princess. It's true, because mommy and daddy said so..." She would repeat to herself.

"Never will I surrender my nobility and dreams, for they are... a princess' rite of passage." She'd say. This girl who loved to dream, however, grew up. Fourteen years of age now, and her peers who refused to accept her belittled her again and again. Afterwards, she'd sit alone, apart from everyone else.

"This is but a minor setback for the noble princess. My parents will understand." She thought to herself. She was sure that her parents would understand and comfort her. However, when she jumped into her parent's arms, she was greeted with gentle, yet devastating words.

"▉ ▉ ▉, you're fourteen years old now. It's fun to make-believe, but eventually you need to grow up and put your childish dreams behind you..." Her father said. With those words, that have once lit her up and brought her joy, destroyed and tore apart the world from her very eyes. After that, she was quickly inside the library she'd always be in. Her head laying face down on the table, crying away her heart. Suddenly, she heard the flapping of wings. She looked up to see a night raven from another world through her red, swollen eyes. The events afterwards were a different story, a story Fischl didn't like much. Thinking about it caused her to feel pain and it suffocated her heart. Maybe this story would one day be written, but that was ▉ ▉ ▉'s story, not Fischl's. Fischl already had an identity. The Prinzessin. As long as she knew this basic logic, and a bit of kindness from others, nothing would ever be able to hurt her. Two years later, with Ozvaldo von Hrafnavines, or Oz, her bird companion, she'd be at the top of the investigators in the adventurer's guild. Skill with a bow, she's also able to see through Oz, making investigating places too easy for her...

Is Oz a figment of her imagination? Well, to answer that, we must start with the royal heirloom, Edelstein der Dunkelheit, or, Fischl's vision. When her wish was first acknowledged the night at the library, both Oz and her Vision came down to her. That night at dinner, Oz seemed to get it off with her parents pretty well.

"Ah, mein Kaiser und Kaiserin der Verurteilung, forgive mine overstep, but the beans in your house are too delicious." He'd say.

"Oh, then please, help yourself. This is the first time little ▉ ▉ ▉ has met a friend she can bring over for dinner since she turned fourteen. This is a special occasion." They said. They could see Oz and believed Oz was Fischl's first friend.
