Fischl woke up the next day to find a note she missed from her parents. They'd be off on an adventure for the next two weeks and it was up to her to take care of the house. They went to Liyue for a change. Someplace they don't usually go. The land of the Geo Archon, Rex Lapis. Fischl sighed.
"They're always gone. It almost feels like they forget about me." She said.
"I doubt that mein Fräulein. They care deeply about you, as so does I." Oz comforted. Fischl smiled.
"Thanks Oz." She replied. The day went by too quickly for her. She went and checked for commissions, talked to Bennett, then they separated due to different tasks they had to do. Bennett was going on an adventure, which, hopefully, doesn't go too badly while Fischl had to make a sweep to make sure that Starsnatch cliff was safe to adventures. Safe as in nothing too dangerous to passing travelers or merchants. The day felt like it lasted an hour. Fischl got back and found no sign of Bennett, even after waiting a few hours. She decided to go home after that.
"I guess we can't talk every day, every hour..." She said. These events would unfold for a few more days. Fischl was going through a prime time in her career, as people just seemed to be really paranoid about a lot of things. Cyrus, the guild's master, always said that adventuring would never be the same anymore. People were less and less adventurous now. Well, Bennett made that seem like a lie. He'd always be up for an adventure and easily bring it into all of his conversations. What can he say? He's been raised by adventures. Finally, one day, Fischl no longer had any commissions.
"There's nothing for you today. Now shoo! You're parents are gone for a while, enjoy yourself. You've been coming to me nonstop asking for commissions." Kathryne said. Fischl didn't retaliate this time.
"Task server, no worries! I shall take this day off to relieve myself of stress and calm the darkness that's filled my soul!" Fischl said. Kathryne was actually happy with this outcome. She always felt that Fischl was overworking herself.
"Ah! Prinzessin der Verurteilung! What's on your commission list today?" Bennett asked. He looked as if he just got up.
"The tasks that have been required for me for these past days are no more, and I shall not receive new ones for a statement of time that is unknown to both me and the great task server." Fischl said.
"Just call me Kathryne!" Kathryne shouted. Fischl pretended not to hear.
"Really? That's great! I'll take the day off so we can catch up!" Bennett said. Fischl nodded. That's when Bennett's stomach growled.
"Bennett, have you eaten your breakfast?" Oz asked.
"Not yet. I thought I heard you out here so I rushed over." Bennett replied.
"Hm... one should not skip a meal, as it's important to nutrition. Who knows what terrors and evils there are that may attack any second." Fischl said. Bennett nodded.
"You're totally right! Let's head to Good Hunter! They have killer pancakes!" Bennett said.
"Ah, excellent choice. Mein Fräulein also hasn't had a big breakfast." Oz said.
"Oz! I— Yes I have! I was just going to obtain more ingredients here so that I can conceive a bigger meal for the passing day." Fischl lied. In truth, she didn't eat much that morning. The void inside her was growing irritated by a mysterious darkness that decided to enter her body. She had a stomach ache. It was gone now though.
"Great! Let's get going!" Bennett said. He quickly turned around and waited for Fischl to catch up so they could walk side by side.
"Any better outcomes from your trips to the unexplored?" Fischl asked. Bennett nodded.
