Marie's Pov
"Honey wake up. you have school." my mom says shaking me. I turn to my side and groan. "Mom I don't wanna." I said pulling the blankets over my head. it was Monday. the worst day of the week. and with the weekend I had I don't even want to leave my bedroom much less go to school. "Marie now." i just ignored her. I heard matt walk in. "Stephanie Marie Rae Hudson get up NOW!" she yelled. I could hear matt laughing. I groaned getting up. "Mom."
I mumbled. "Well you should've gotten up." she said crossing her arms. "Yeah listen to your mother Stephanie." matt said trying to hold his laugh in. Stephanie is my birth name. no body knows it except for my family and well matt now. I flicked him off. "MARIE!" my mom yelled. matt laughed even harder. I rolled my eyes and walked down stairs.
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple and some water. mom
came down with matt following behind her. "I'm going to the grocery store. when I get back you better be at school. BOTH of you." my mom said pointing to me and matt. "Okay mom. love you." I said. she smiled and walked out. "Hey Stephanie can you please hand me some water?" matt asked laughing. "Shut the hell up Matthew." I said. he quit laughing. "Don't call me that." he said with a straight face. he likes matt not matthew. "Then don't call me Stephanie you little shit head." I said walking up stairs. I walked into my closet and picked out an out fit. I picked my black studded boots with high waisted black ripped jeans. and a sweatshirt that said, Or nah. I threw my clothes on and walked down stairs. I didn't see matt. I saw a note on the counter.
"I left already. I love you
-matt"
huh thanks matt. I brushed my hair and teeth and walked outside. I grabbed my penny board and rode it to school.
I picked up my penny board and walked in. everyone smiled and waved. and of course I did the same back. "Hi I'm Chelsea I'm new. it seems like your well known around here so I was wondering if you could show me around? it's fine if you can't. I understand." she asked looking down rocking back and forth on her heels. I smiled. "Of course." I said. she smiled looking up. I grabbed her hand and we started walking around the school.
*7 mins later*
I was about to introduce Chelsea to Mr.Drake.the science teacher when an announcement came on.
"All students report to the gymnasium for an important announcement." the old lady's voice rang threw the microphone. I rolled my eyes. "Let's go." I said smiling and grabbing Chelsea's hand.
we walked in the gym and took our seats in the bleachers. when everyone was seated the lights dimmed. I heard a guitar strumming. a spot light hit Shawn mendes. he was coming up the bleachers stairs strumming the guitar. he stopped and held out his hand signaling me to take it. I took his hand and he walked me down the stairs. the spotlight was on me and I was standing in the middle of the gym with everyone's eyes on me. shawn started to play again but this time he started to sing thinking out loud by Ed sheeran. (a/n if you want to listen to it while reading this next part makes it more emotional)
a bright light shined. I turned my head. it was a big screen. there was a picture of me and matt he was kissing my cheek and I was doing a weird duck face thing. it slid to the next picture. it was matt staring at me while I was laughing.

shawn voice rang in the back ground. I still watched the video. "Marie" I turned around. matt was in a tux with a bouquet of pink roses.
"Marie I love you so much." he said walking towards me.
a tear fell from my eye.
"You make me the happiest guy on this planet and I'm so happy to call you mine." Matt stood in front of me. "And that's why I wouldn't ask anyone else to do this." he turned me around. there were 5 football players holding up posters that said
"P.R.O.M.?"
I turned back to matt. I nodded "Yes. a million times yes." I said jumping into his arms. he hugged me back. everyone behind us was clapping. I let go. he gave me the roses and pulled out a tiny box. my eyes widened. he laughed. he opened it and pulled out a ring. "Marie this is a promise ring." he put it on my ring finger. "As long as you were this ring. I promise to be yours and you promise to be mine. I'll never hurt you and I'll stay by your side. I promise." he said. another tear fell. "I love you matt." I said kissing him. "I love you too." he said smiling. "Is this why you had to leave early?" I asked laughing. he nodded chuckling. "Yep." he said. "Well it's all amazing." I said smiling.
