Chapter 5

"Damn it, I am so in trouble" I cursed out loud. As Kira pulled into my driveway the headlights penetrated the darkness and illuminated my mom's figure standing on the porch. 

"Good luck Lainey" I gave kira a panicked look and stepped out of the vehicle. The night air nipped at my skin, I wrapped my arms around myself. I neared the porch but stopped to turn around in time to see Kira's car vanish down the road. Closing my eyes I turned back around to see my mom standing in front of me. 

"Would you like to tell me where you went at this godly hour of night?" Her voice was deadly calm.

"I went with Kira to get her a tattoo." 

"A....Tattoo?" 

She raised an eyebrow not believing me. A tattoo what was I thinking?. Of course me not liking to be caught up in a lie dug myself deeper into the hole.

"Yeah It was a spontaneous on the spot type of thing."

"Uh huh so why would you need a fake Id if it was only Kira." 

My heart stopped I looked down to see my card half sticking out of my pocket. Great I'm so busted how am I supposed to explain that?. 

"I know you're lying to me Lainey." I went to speak but she held up a hand silencing me.

"You don't have to explain yourself you are now 17 and old enough on wolf terms to mate. So we are giving you more leisure but I expect you to tell me when you're ready." 

She turned to go but as if she remembered something she spoke her back towards me.

"Just a forewarning your father invited all five omega boys in our house for the week hoping you'd develop a mate bond with one of them."

With that she turned around and vanished into the house leaving me to stare after her in shock. They were giving me a lot of freedom. No doubt hoping I'd go mingle among our pack members and find a mate. I felt a tingle along the palm of my hand. Turning my hand over I stared in shock at the black ink. A simple drawing of a heart with intricate design inside of it was etched into my skin.  I closed my hand putting it into a fist. My knuckles turned white. This was the mating signature. Each one unique to the mating pair. The mark females get once the male has accepted the bond. 

Great just great not only do I have to deal with hormonal boys trying to get in my pants I have to deal with Jared. Just because Jared accepted it don't mean I'd have to as well. I lifted my head high and walked into my house. Inside the foyer I was bombarded by a bunch of the male omega's. They all started talking at once. Shouting to be heard over each other. 

I held my hand up to signal them to quiet down. That is until Exeter the most confident and arrogant omega grabbed me and slammed his lips to mine. He tasted of faint cigarettes and bitter coffee. Pounding on his chest I desperately tried to pull back but he held me tighter to him. Finally he pulled back with a smirk on his face.

"You're ready to mate I can smell it on you." I gasped as I shoved him back no longer being held so tightly.

"You pig!" I looked around at all five of them looking at me with the same hopeful lust filled eyes.

"All of you are pigs!" 

"Oh come on now princess sooner or later I will have you. I know you want me." Exeter announced making a few of the guys snicker. 

"I will never want you, not now not ever." He just gave me a wink. His black shaggy hair falling in a sweep on his forehead. I pushed past them all to head up the staircase that led to the many bedrooms. Down in the foyer I could hear the hoots and laughter of the guys. Rolling my eyes I stepped inside of my bedroom which was the first door to the left. 

My room was the second biggest in the house. It held a queen sized bed, desk, and book shelves. I even had my own bathroom, and a walk out balcony over looking the forest. I walked over to the sliding glass doors and opened them walking out onto the balcony. The fall night was beautiful the twinkling light of stars never wavered. Letting my thought's wonder I thought of Jared. 

What was he thinking accepting me as a mate? We are from rival packs both soon to be Alphas. If our packs knew we even spoke to each other we'd be in a lot of trouble. But if they knew we were mates. We could very well be banished from our packs forever. It was a very dangerous line to cross. One that I wont accept. The reason why I can't feel the full affect of the bond. I never accepted. Somehow I had to keep my mark covered up unseen. 

If it were up to my parents they'd have me mate with Exeter bond or no. He is the strongest of all the omega's and he acts good around my parents. They don't know his true colors. Just how malicious he could be. I wanted to make my parents happy but I had to do whats right. For myself and the pack. If I were to mate with him He'd be the alpha male. I couldn't let someone like him have that much power over everyone. It'd be total chaos. 

My stomach rumbled come to think of it I hadn't eaten since this morning. I didn't want to go downstairs in fear of running into Exeter now that he is in the house for a week. Walking back into my room I rummaged in my dresser drawer for that candy bar I stored in there for emergencies. I always liked to keep a candy bar in case I needed it. I found a Hershey bar under a pair of socks. Jack pot!.

I laid on my bed eating in silence the only sound was the crinkling of the wrapper. I gazed around at my plain purple walls. The only decoration on the walls were scattered posters of my favorite books, and bands. I hardly have time for decorating any way now. Even if my room could stand to have some redecorating done to it. Taking the last bite of my chocolate I threw the wrapper in my garbage can. I savored the sweetness of it rolling it around my mouth until it melted.   

I looked over to the clock to see it was almost one in the morning. Turning off the lights I hopped into bed. Just before I fell asleep I decided It was time Jared and I had a formal discussion. Soon the darkness came lulling me to sleep.
