Kanza brought me a gorgeous off-white dress. It flowed all the way down to the floor. Little designs adorned the bottom and top of the dress. It hugged my waist showing off my curves. Kanza looked extravagant in her Emerald dress.

"Can you tell me what this festival is for?" Despite getting ready she still hadn't told me what the festival was. Outside I could hear people shouting orders, and children laughing.

"It's to celebrate the full moon, lots of dancing and food." I gave Kanza a small smile before some women I didn't know marched into the room.

The first one was slim, with curly brown hair. The other one was a bit taller and more filled out. They both had the same hair and facial structure. They must be sisters.

"Lainey, this is Sarah and Jaz they will be your escorts to the party." I stared at Kanza then back at the sisters. I didn't want to be left with strangers but if Kanza trusted them then they should be fine I trust her.

The preparations had taken all day. Kanza had let me borrow a simple jeweled necklace, and a couple bracelets one for each wrist. It seemed almost wrong to have this celebration when Valric is on the brink of war.

Music blared outside, cheerful and upbeat. It floated around my hut setting Jaz and Sarah into motion. Each of them looped their arms around mine. Jaz the taller of the two seemed out of place in her brown dress. Sarah though seemed to relish in it. It's almost eerie how different they were from each other.

I let them lead me outside, where the night blanketed the sky. The full moon high above lighting the way. I felt a stir inside of me at the power the moon gave me. This would be one hell of a night.

All around fires blazed fighting the dark, Silhouettes of people danced around the fires to the music. My heart soared at the sight. With war threatening, they found peace to have a celebration.

The sisters dumped me by one of the fires closest to my hut. They left me without so much as a goodbye. In fact, they never spoke to me at all. I wonder what was wrong with them. I watched them go slinking in among the crowd getting sucked up into it. I stood before the fire feeling the heat of it dance inside of me. I scanned my eyes around the area looking for anyone familiar. When I found none, I tore my eyes away looking back into the fire.

I felt a hard hand on my shoulder. Immediately I turned around to come face to face with Simar. I took my hand shoving his off of me.

"What do you want?" I seethed through clenched teeth. His dark hair almost blended into the night.

"I have come to reclaim what I've lost." I shoved down the rising laughter bubbling in my throat. He must have read it on my face for his eyes held a dangerous warning in them.

"What exactly have you lost?" I drawled pretending to look over his shoulder. No one was paying any attention to us. They were all too caught up in dancing.

"My dignity, when you defeated me,"  He got in my face baring his teeth at me. A chill crept down my spine. Something about this situation wasn't right. He brought up his right hand which was in a fist. At first, I thought he was going to hit me, but he opened his fist to reveal a powdery silver substance. My stomach sunk at the acrid smell emanating from the powder. Wolfsbane meant to temporarily drug a werewolf.

Before I could turn to run he blew the powder into my face. It hit me like a ton of bricks, it clogged my nose, and throat I couldn't breathe. Gasping I doubled over falling to the ground. Black swam in my vision. Simar leaned over me, my vision going blurry. Simar was all I saw as I blacked out.

When I came to, The horrible ache in my body hit me first. I didn't know where I was. I blinked back my blurry vision. Sunlight pierced my eyes making me throw a hand over my eyes. Lowering my arm, I realized I was in the middle of the plain. It took one more minute to realize my dress was torn open. Sinking dread and despair filled me. What had Simar done?
