Chapter 23:

Len's POV:

   After Emica fell asleep, I logged out of the game and sat up to see Rin smiling mischievously at me. 

"What the heck are you doing?!" I cried, almost falling off of my bed.

"Oh, Yue! You can't look at me or laugh because it makes me mad...ly in love with you." Rin giggled.

"How long did you eavesdrop?" I wondered suspiciously.

"Up to the part where you said you wanted to stay with her." Rin grinned. "Then I had to leave. By the way, who's Kit? Nobody ever mentioned him before."

"A jerk." I grumbled.

My twin laughed. "You two act like idiots when you show off around Yue. Also, you're an idiot for telling her your name."

"Whatever." I rolled over and pulled my covers over my head, soon falling asleep.

   I was brought out of my trance by Luki nudging me. I looked up to see my teacher glowering down at me.

She snatched up my paper and examined it. There wasn't anything written on it of course, but there were bits of eraser and the vague outline of a girl with a ponytail. My attempts had been such a spectacular failure that I couldn't pollute the world with it, so it was immediately erased.

"I hope you'll pay as much attention to class as you do your artwork, more in fact; since your art needs considerable improving." She set down the paper and continued her lurking around the room.

   I glanced at the messy paper. The sketch had been erased, you couldn't even make out what it was, so who was she to judge?

"Since when do you draw?" Luki whispered goofily.

"Since I decided to." I rolled my eyes, aware of the whispering going on throughout the room.

Len Kagamine was drawing during class.

Len Kagamine didn't even make a snarky remark to the teacher!

He took teacher's criticism just like THAT!

   After school Luki and the guys were trying to get me to spill what I had been drawing.

"Wait, guys! I think it's a girl!" Kaito cried, straining to see the carefully erased lines that weren't even there.

"Really?" Luki's eyes widened.

"Kaito always thinks whatever I do relates to a girl somehow." I reminded them after swallowing my sandwhich, which I had forgotten to eat at lunch.

"But am I right?" Kaito raised an eyebrow.

"About what?" I asked, playing dumb.

"Dude! You have to tell us!" Meito threw up his hands. "I seriously think you finally have a crush."

"That's a bold statement." I laughed. Maybe crush isn't bold enough...

Luki took the paper. "It kinda looks like a ponytail so...Neru? Miku? Who else wears ponytails a lot?"

"Una?" Kaito suggested.

"Ponytail's too short for that." Meito observed. "It looks more like mid-back length. All the girls here either have crazy long, or super short hair."

"Wait...what if we don't know her. HOW WILL WE GUESS!?" Luki cried.

"See you guys after Easter." I smirked and ran for the door.

I ran all the way home and up to my room. My gear was all set up.

"LEN KAGAMINE YOU BETTER NOT BE TURNING ON THAT..." My mom was yelling, but I had already put on my equipment and jumped onto my bed.

   The world shimmered into view. In the distance I saw Emi running around and laughing with Snowy chased after her. She had managed to find her tannish brown tunic.

"Hi Len!" She called, running over out of breath. A smile lit up her whole face.

"Hey. What'cha doing?"

"Snowy's gotten so fast and she wouldn't stop trying to bite my feet." Emi explained as a streak of white flew at my leg.

"Holy CROOOOW!" I shook Snowy off, which made her think I was now a part of the game.

Emica ran as soon as Snowy looked at her. Then she ran back over to try and trick Snowy, and ran straight into Kit, who had just gotten on. They both toppled to the ground.

I immediately pulled Emica up and glared at Kit.

"Thanks Ren...er....sorry Kit. I...I wasn't looking where I was going." Emi laughed nervously glancing back and forth between us.

"No worries. I've had much more threatening things knock me to the ground." Kit boasted, looking at Em in a way I didn't like.

'Yeah and you'll have another mouthful of dirt if you don't back off.'

Rin and Myra's characters appeared.

"Alright! To Dranfall!" Rin cheered, winking at me and hooking arms with Emi.

"And everyone is going to pay for their share of the room, right?" Myra raised an eyebrow, to which we all nodded and set off.

   Kit did his best to get on my nerves. He kept saying really annoying things and showing off. The worst was he kept bringing up my failure back at the temple. Of course, Rin didn't know that Story so Kit had to tell her. He made me sound like a total wimp!

"So there I was, hacking and slashing into Argor's weak point with everything I had, and Ren just stops." Kit smirked. "He looks over at me and says: "I think he's glitching." Then Ren went straight up to Argor and knocked on his Armor. Welp, Argor didn't like that too well; so with a sweep of his giant hand he sent Ren flying! After he stabbed him clean through of course. Argor just ignored me and stomped right over to Yue and Ren. He lifted his giant sword and was about to slash them when I jumped to the rescue and blocked his stroke..."

He just wouldn't shut up. And he went into thorough detail about how pitiful I looked, lying dead in "Yue's" arms.

   Myra and Rin laughed at his completely bogus retelling. I glanced at Emi. She was walking with her gaze to the ground. Her side sweep fell in her eyes, blocking me from seeing her expression. 

If Kit goes on much longer I swear he won't live to see Dranfall.
